The Walk

"Excuse me fellas. Hey, could I talk to you for a minute." She walked up to the table.

"Alright, what?" He said looking at Damonte for support.

"I uh.... Let's walk over here." She stuttered a bit before he got up. She led him down the path. After getting past the nerves, they had been walking and talking for about 15 minutes.

He was a great person to talk to. She looked up at him. Very attentive, sweet, smart.

Damn he looks good, she thought to herself.

I wonder if he's single... Probably not. She said under her breath.

"What?" He said looking down at Kianna.

"I ain't say nothing." She looked at him smiling. He knew she said something. He just didn't know what.

"Sooo, my bestie told me you liked me." She said nervously. Raekwon looked down at her, again this time with a smile. He lets out a low laugh.

"Who told you that?" He said walking slower.

"Chantel said she heard my name when the guys said something to you, then someone yelled it out or something like that." She shrugged, but it was almost more as a question than a fact. And with that she looked away from him and up to the sky.

"Damn!" He he stroked his chin hair. "She heard that?"

"Yeah, I guess he said it pretty loud... Why? Did you not want me to know?" She said, as she walked next to him, hitting his arm playfully.

They kept walking till they came to the end of the path. They were all alone, standing under the hot sun. They found a picnic table and took a seat.

"You know what, I like you too... The first time I saw you, which was this morning, I thought you were looking good." She confessed. He looked at her.

"Hmm." He shook his head as he looked away shocked.

And what he was about to do next, was going to be bold, but worth a try. It could go one way or another... Good or bad.

So when she brought her head back up, he turned back to face her and gently grabbed her by the chin. They stared in each other's eyes for a moment. His eyes were low and dark. She wasn't sure of what she was sensing in them, but she was definitely getting lost. Wow.

He gently and smoothly placed a kiss on Kianna's lips. She hesitated before kissing him back. He ran his thumb across her cheek as she rested her hand on his lap.

After what seemed like eternity, they stopped kissing, breathlessly and glared at each other. By then Chantel and Damonte started to worry about them.

"I wonder where they went? Chantel approached Damonte.

"I don't know man... cuz they been gon' for a long ass time." He said texting Raekwon.

Raekwon got the text and got up from the bench. He told Kianna that they had to get back because their nosy friends were looking for them.
