A new state, town, school, house and hopefully new friends. You’d think after moving ten times in the last five years I’d get used to it but it’s just the opposite. Every time I moved I lost friends, family and, well, the feeling of belonging somewhere. I still had my dad but he wasn’t home much, being the C.E.O of Integrated Technology, the leading company in the technological field. It was his dream to build this company and he worked so hard to achieve it that I thought it would be selfish to deprive him from doing what he loves. “Hello,” said a voice from behind me, “are you a new student?”
“Um, yes,” I replied turning to face the speaker, “and who exactly are you?”
He was tall with light brown hair and sparkling blue eyes.
“I’m Nathaniel Morris, a teacher here,” he said.
“A teacher!” I exclaimed. He didn’t look a day over eighteen.
“Yes,” he replied sighing, “contrary to popular belief I did pass the age of eighteen.”
“Oh,” I said quietly, “but how did you know I was new?”
“I was told I’d be having a new student in my Physics class” he explained, “and, you’re the only one that would come to school before it reopens.”
“What!” I exclaimed horrified. “Yep,” he chided, “school opens next week Tuesday, you’re eight days early.”
“Ugh,” I said face palming while he chuckled.
“Well, goodbye,” he said while walking away, “I’ll see you in school.”
After leaving the school grounds I went straight to Starbucks. I spent Sunday looking around so I at least knew where to find the main places, namely Starbucks, the library and the mall. I was standing in line when I heard a voice behind me ask a very weird question if I do say so myself.
“Are you single?”
