The kingdoms included in this story are in a mountainous region and each has their own protective wall. This wall is meant to keep out outlanders, and monsters. The artisan market is in the center of each kingdom so it is heavily guarded due to being far into the interior. Housing districts surround the castle/palace and the market. People who leave the walls must have a permit. Usually only questors, mercenaries, and magics have access to leave as well as royals. (Very high security).
