Growing up

Chapter 1

Allura, Shiro, and Caran unloaded their bags and carefully unpacked. The babies were asleep and they didn't want to wake them. The house was mostly clean, but because Caran had stayed, there wasn't much cleaning that needed to be done. While taking a break, they heard a cry. Allura rushed upstairs with Shiro right behind her.

They entered the nursery and saw Hunk awake. Hunk was the oldest, he had his mother's tanned skin, and his father's dark hair. Hunk was very kind-hearted, but new when to be tough.

Hunk was crying and was hungry. Allura got a bottle ready as Shiro cradled Hunk to calm down. Once Allura had the bottle made, Shiro passed Hunk over to her and just watched as the child was fed and put to sleep again. Over the next few months, they would hear cries come from one the infants demanding to be changed, to be fed, or to held. Caran helped the couple a lot, so stress stayed at a low level.

At the 10 month mark...

Shiro quietly got out of bed to let Allura sleep, and walked over to the nursery. He entered to see the infants sitting up in their cribs and awake, ready for the world. They seemed to be talking, but before Shiro had come, Lance was yelling. Shiro lifted his children out and placed them down on the play mat with the many toys.

"Good morning Shiro." Caran walked in and sat down to play with the children as well.
"Good morning Caran." Shiro answered gladly to see Caran playing with Pidge and Keith.
"How did you and Allura sleep?"
"Great. Thanks for helping us out, it means a lot."
"Oh, gladly."

Allura walked in and her heart melted at the sight of her children playing with their dad and uncle. She sat down as well and played with Hunk. Lance picked up one of the blue toys and shook it around, then threw it at Pidge and Keith. Shiro told him no and got up to change him into clothes for the day. Caran checked Pidge and Keith for any wounds or scratches from Lance's toy, and they only had a bruise on their foreheads. Allura let Hunk out of her arms to go hug his hurt siblings. Shiro returned with Lance dressed and set him down to apologize.

"I have some exciting news for you all!" Caran stood up and the kids just tilted their heads at him.
"I signed you all up for the family event at the local science center!"
"Wow Caran! Thank you!" Allura went over to hug her uncle.
"When is it?" Shiro happily asked as Allura let go of Caran.
"At ten o-clock!" He pointed at the clock which read 8:23.

Everyone was very excited and hurried to get ready. Caran went down stairs to prepare breakfast, and Shiro got the kids ready so Allura could get ready herself. Once Allura finished, she traded off with Shiro and let him get ready. Allura brought the kids to the dinning table for breakfast. And they ate.

Pidge wore a green sweater with an atom on it, shorts, and child-sized Convers.
Keith wore a dark red long-sleeved shirt with a dinosaur eye on it, dark blue jeans, and Convers as well.
Lance wore a gray-long-sleeved shirt with a blue short-sleeved shirt over it, jeans, and his favorite sneakers.
Hunk wore a yellow jacket with a gray shirt showing underneath, dark-brown shorts, and gray-Convers.
