Funneh's POV:
"So, are you nervous about being with Alec?" Gold asked. I stared at her.
"Of course not! I mean, I'm with my crush!" I exclaimed. Suddenly I felt a pang of fear. What if Alec didn't like me? What if he thinks I'm stupid? Gold noticed my sudden discomfort, and in true best friend style, she gave me a hug.
"I'm sure you'll be fine. He might like you too, you know."
I breathed a sigh of relief and hugged her back. Gold really was the best friend anyone would want.
"Thanks Gold," I said. "I hope everything will go alright between you and Kyran."
Gold smiled.
"Dinner will be ready soon. Don't worry, it'll be pizza that Evelyn made earlier." Gold smiled, before walking downstairs. My phone buzzed. I fished around my pocket before reading a text from Alec.
Alec: Hi Funneh! Are you excited for the challenge tomorrow?
Funneh: Ye-yeah!
Alec: Well, I'm really glad to be working with you again. Goodnight!
Funneh: Goodnight!
I started blushing like crazy! My mind was in a whirl. Was Alec really glad to be working with me again? I heard Gold calling me. I sped downstairs, delighted that the food wasn't burnt.
