(continued)

Iwaizumi began to follow the setter's path, he knew his friend had too much of an ego to go back home and cry, and thus, he must be at somewhere secluded while venting his anger out.

The playground.

Iwaizumi's first guess was the playground in their neighbourhood. It was the first place they met, the place they became friends and that very place they tried volleyball for the first time.

It held so many memories between Iwaizumi and Oikawa and the former knew his friend would definitely be there.

Indeed, from far, Iwaizumi could spot a guy slouching on the swing.

"Yo shittykawa," the spiker uttered in his cold tone.

Oikawa immediately looked up at the raven haired male, before heading his head away in anger.

"Yahh don't ignore me. I...I was wrong, I'm sorry, I shouldn't..."

"Shouldn't what?"

"Shouldn't say those harsh words to you. I'm very sorry, Tooru."

Tooru, yes, Iwaizumi said Oikawa's first name in a thousand year, the spiker refused to call him that at first because it will sound as if they're very close, and Iwaizumi hated that. But now, Iwaizumi actually said that himself, which made Oikawa's eyes sparkle despite still being upset with his friend.

"Iwa-chan? W-what did you say?"

"I said I'm sorry."

"And after that?"

"...Tooru?"

"You- did you really said that?"

"No."

"Can you say that again?"

"No."

"Please..."

Iwaizumi paused for a while before showing a pissed off expression.

"I'm leaving..." Iwaizumi rolled his eyes as he walked away, knowing that his clingy friend will always hold him back.

But for this time, he didn't.

Iwaizumi stopped at a certain distance after realising that Oikawa did not do anything to stop him from leaving - and that was real weird!

Turning back, he saw the setter hunching on the swing, playing with his fingers with a pout on his face.

'Do you really want to leave him here like that?' Iwaizumi thought to himself, 'You're supposed to make him feel better, not leave him alone!'

He stared at the setter from the distance quietly. Indeed, if Iwaizumi had pay more attention to his best friend, he would have noticed that Oikawa was actually also feeling down after the match. He no longer walks with confidence with that annoyingly charming expression, even his smiles to the other team members were forced.

I was so close to Oikawa and I actually neglected him the entire day, selfishly dwelling in self-pity and self-blame. We were both captains and he chose to be strong for the team, and I actually criticised him for being emotionless...I'm the one being crappy here!!

Letting out a mouthful of air, Iwaizumi scratched his head in frustration before walking back to the swing. The shadow that cast over him made Oikawa raise his head once again, and to see his friend coming back for him made his heart flutter a little bit.

"I'm sorry, Tooru," the spiker said in a slightly softer tone.

"Iwa-chan..."

"I'm sorry for hurting your feeling and...for leaving you alone, I'm sorry."
