My Mate of a Neighbor

Hello's and Kids

Aiden 

I finally decided on a home for myself not too far from the pack. Usually it's unheard of to have a soon to be alpha move before he has found his mate. Most wolfs started to find their mate in their early teens. 

My story was different since I haven't came across my mate yet and I was already heading towards my 23rd birthday. I was a strong soon to be alpha with out my luna. People still saw me as a weak opponent regardless of how many times I stood my ground.  

Many were trying to challenge my position and instead of waiting for my 25th birthday I planned to take them all down this year. It was custom to have an official battle at the age of 25 for all those who appose an alpha. Most of the time that card is only pulled when there is a terrible alpha out there mistreating  a pack. In my case I would be the first unmated alpha in our packs history. 

Unity showed strength , so I got my soon to be pack members  to agree to an up coming challenge.  All in hopes that there wouldn't be an uproar later or anytime soon for that matter.

I finally unpacked my room and felt like it was time I started to get a bit more familiar with my neighbors. These houses weren't small by any means they kept plenty of space between properties. In total there was only three houses including mine within the 300 acres.

Knowing who lived around me would just make it easier to blend it and play human. It was getting close to seven in the morning when I walked to my neighbor who was off to the right side of me. 

As I was walking I started to feel my wolf stir , his name is Casper. I tried to reassure him with the thought of shifting. 

We can change later after saying our hello's . 

Silly human , you will see. 

What does that mean ? Casper is something going to happen ? 

Don't worry human I am just restless. 

I didn't even get a moment to reply before he closed himself off to me. Luckily we were already at our first neighbors home. I rang the door bell knowing people were up. I was able to hear children scream and some moving around.  In all I was just worrying about the parents watching their kids so they don't end up on my land.

The door opened up to reveal a rather pregnant young lady. She seemed to be on the shorter side which made her look all the more adorable. I just wanted to protect her and rap her in my arms. 

Then I smelt her , she had the most intoxicating sent a mix of vanilla and peach pie. 

Mate

I know mate. She seems human we have to be careful Casper 

I tried to look at her it seemed she was smelling me as well and had a tint of a blush on her face. My heart was racing she was beautiful and mine. 

Why is mate pregnant?  MINE 

Casper was growling and fighting for control.  I had a strong enough hold for now to keep him back. 

Wait let me ask mate. Calm down we might lose her by scaring her 

" Hi there my name is Aiden.  I'm your new neighbor" I tried to sound polite as I reached out my hand to get a handshake at least. 

" You can call me Myra. I wasn't aware someone moved in it's very nice to meet you." Her soft voice was captivating.  She placed her hand in mine after she spoke.

Myra  

I could hear kids laughing in the background and lost my thought. I had to call my father I needed help with my mate.

"Myra , I was just hoping to stop by and say hello. Would your husband happen to be around ?" I tried to be subtle while take a glance at her belly.

"Oh no , I don't have a husband. Why do you ask ?"  She was reaching for her belly and took a look down then glanced back at me she looked hurt.

Smooth move human you hurt mate. 

Stupid 

I'm trying here . How was I supposed to know she would get hurt over a simple question.

" Well I just wanted to say my hello's to him as well. Sorry for intruding , I think I will be on my way. " I quickly tried to leave so I didn't make a bigger fool out of myself. 

" No you are fine , thank you for stopping by. Have a good day Aiden."  She smiled as she spoke my name. My mate said my name , it made me want to run up and just snatch her.
