Chapter – 2 | Just a dream

‘What is your name?’ he asked after a few minutes. Instead of answering, I just looked out of the window and enjoyed the wintry breeze.

‘I asked you something.’ he said poking my shoulder. Again, I just ignored him. But it seemed like he did not took the hint of leaving me alone, so he just kept poking.

‘What?’ I asked, irritated.

‘Your name…’

‘You won't stop until I tell you.’ It wasn't a question. He gave me a sheepish smile and I rolled my eyes.

‘My name is Florence Williams’

‘Florence’ He tested my name on his tongue with a thoughtful look.

I sighed and looked back out of the window. Clouds by now had disappeared, making the moon shine brighter, and added with the soft breeze; one can say it's a beautiful night. Funny how not more than an hour ago, this night seemed so scary. Somehow, I don’t know why but this guy’s presence seemed to have... just wiped out the scary feeling. And the funny thing was that, I did not seem to mind this. Closing my eyes, I tried relaxing. Not more than a second passed and I could feel the sleep approaching.

‘So Florence, where are you heading to?’

Or maybe I am minding this.

I turned and glared at him, ‘Seriously?’

‘What? It's a long night. Might as well make it useful’

‘And this is your idea of making it useful? By irritating me..?’

‘Well, I do have some other ideas but I wasn't sure you would agree with them.’ he said an innocent smile. At first I could not understand what he meant; but when I did, red covered my face.

‘What in hell is that supposed to mean?’ I asked furiously.

‘See? I did not even tell you those ideas and you already seem to disagree’ he replied. And guess what my comeback on that was.

‘Go away.’

“Real mature Florence…” was the snarky remark from the voice in my head.

‘Be careful what you wish for Florence. What if I do go away?’

‘I would be glad.’ I said with a huff.

‘No you won't.’

‘And makes you say that?’

‘Well, for one, you seemed to be starting to have a crush on me. And secondly, if I do go away, then who will keep those creeps away from you?’ he said with a smug look and I glared at him.

‘You do not have to worry about them. I'm well capable of helping myself.’

‘I'm sure you are. Maybe that is why when they came here, you looked as if you were going to faint.’

‘I was not!’ I objected, ‘I was just... I-I was..."

‘You w-were what Florence?’ he asked mimicking my tone.

‘I was actually planning on beating the hell out of them.’

‘Oh I'm sure you were. I totally believe you.’ he said with a mocking beam and I glared at him.

I admit, maybe I was a bit scared. But did he really need to rub that on my face?

Giving him one last glare, I looked around, and something on his bag that was placed beside my foot, caught my eyes. A beautiful blue colored dream catcher, in form of a key chain, was hanging at the side of his bag. Its blue feathers looked so soft that my fingers itched to stroke them. I stopped myself before I could do so, when I saw him looking at me with an amused expression.
