I ran up to the little girl as she was screaming bloody merry in my ear. I thought quickly and looked to the others or advice, but was left with blank faces and 2 crying faces.

I had an idea, but I don’t know if it would work, or if we could do it, or if she would agree.

“I think I have an idea, but you have to be quiet.” I said to the girl. “If you scream we will just be attacked by more zombies ok, sweety?”

She nodded slightly, still with tears streaming down her face.

“I am going to talk to my friends really fast about what we should do, then ill be back, ok? Shout if you need us.”

I didn’t know if she responded, but I didn’t give her a second to think about it in case she changed her mind, and because I knew we needed to act fast.

“Ok, no one shout scream or say im crazy for saying this, but why don’t we just….you know, take it off….” I started but was quickly interrupted by Louis.

“You mean cut her whole arm off?? We can’t do that! There would be so much blood it would attract so many zombies, we would be screwed! And even if we weren’t, she would die from the blood loss anyway!” he shouted

“Yeah, well even if she dies, its better than being turned into a zombie and us having to kill her!”

I heard a sound come from around the corner. I looked and saw the little girl sitting on the floor, now bawling even more, probably because she heard me scream we needed to kill her.

“It’s ok….” I started, but then she butted in

“Elenor” she said between her sobs.

“Ok, Elenor. We don’t have to kill you, but we do need to do something you may not like….”

She lifted her face, “I already heard you, I know what we have to do so just do it…”

Her hand rose up with a saw in it. She also had a large rag and a stretched band. Geeze she acted fast.

“How did you know we needed all that stuff? And you got it so fast!” She only looked about 11 or 12.

“Well, I’ve had to be on my own through a lot of this, and I got to learn…” she started but Louis’ annoyed voice rang through the room once again.

“NO offence, but I don’t think we have time for story time at the moment, if you are ok with this, then we need to do it quickly before the infection gets out of your arm, which will be very soon.”

I looked back at her, “Are you sure you want to do this?” I just wanted to make sure.

“Yes, just do it fast.” She handed be everything she had collected.

I put one of the rags in her mouth so she wouldn’t scream and put the rubber band around her arm. Harry was next to me ready with the towel. Harry was next to her with the saw, he knew how to amputate because he was in the military so he was required to learn.

When he looked at me for approval I looked at Elenor and she nodded.

As the saw went down on her skin, it suddenly realized how terrible this world had become. That here was a 12 year old little girl, so innocent, sweet and brave having blood coming out of her like a river and her face going white as snow. Why would the world do this? She was screaming in pain, I could just tell, but we could only hear 1/3 of it probably, but even with the towel it was deafening.

I told Louis to take my gun and go by the entrance to make sure if any zombies came because of hearing the noise, he could tell us and shoot it.

A while later, it was all done. Arm on the floor like it was ripped off a baby doll, like it didn’t belong to anyone and it was terrible. She had fallen asleep and we were trying to stop the bleeding,

I was starting to think this was a bad idea, because we had gone through about 4 tshirts from the gift shop we were in and she was getting paler by the minute.

It had slowed down a lot, but was still coming. I guess if Elenor had to die, or was meant to, at least it wasn’t by a bullet when she was a totally different monster.

I was worried she would never wake up…. It had been almost 8 hours of sitting, waiting, and hoping she would live. I just hoped that I could see those pretty blue eyes one more time. It is the first time I have had hope in who knows how long.

We had been eating off the snacks in the gift shop, not that there were a lot, so most of us were pretty hungry, getting up periodically to get snacks, but not Harry….

He had been acting so different, like he wasn’t connected to this world. His eyes were cold, but teary. His face was stiff and I looked down at his hands to see that they were in a fist.

I had obviously been staring at him too long because he was getting frustrated and stormed off towards the ticket booth.

“Ill be right back.” I whispered to Connie and I got up and walked toward him.

I snuck around the corner to see him on the floor crying into his hands. I slowly tip-toed over there and sat down with him.

I didn’t speak, neither did he. We sat there for I don’t know how long. It was like he was telling me, but not. That there was something more than just feeling bad about cutting her arm off. But I didn’t ask, he obviously wasn’t ready to talk.

All of the sudden his hand shakily rose off of his face and into his pocket and pulled out a piece of paper, that had the picture of the little girl on it.

“I saw this the day everything went wrong at my school, who is it?” I asked.

“It’s my daughter, and that girl that’s armless in the other room.”

Sorry its so short, I just got out of school so now I can write more!
