Theon looked away from Sansa as she stared at him with deep blue eyes. "You belong with us, Theon. Jon will understand, he'll forgive you." He sniffed. "I don't want to be forgiven." His voice broke at the words. He didn't deserve to be forgiven, he never would.
"Well maybe it's better to be. We were like family, and... I want it to be like that again." Her eyes stared into him, looking into his thoughts. She wouldn't brake her eyes away, why wouldn't she brake her eyes away? "I-I can't... you know what I did. I'm a traitor, I betrayed Robb for... a family I'd never known. I killed those boys, and now the Iron Islands are all I have...I've got to go...home." He felt hot tears streaming down his face. He could never hope to hold them back now as he once did, but he didn't want to think about how he once was.
Sansa put a gloved hand on his shoulder, making him wince at the touch. "Castle Black can be your home for now. At least until we take back Winter-"
"You can't take back Winterfell! You'll never take back Winterfell! Ramsay will skin Jon's army alive and... take y-you!" She looked afraid for just a second, and in a second she remembered her wedding night as though it was happening all over again. Anger lit her face. "Theon, I will not let you be tortured by past crimes forever. Come with me, you will move on from your mistakes and you will live safe with your true family." A tear rolled down her cheek and splattered on her fur cape. Theon, wanting to escape Sansa's staring, studied Brienne, who had sworn to protect Sansa but a moment ago. Brienne looked very awkward at the conversation, obviously feeling as though she shouldn't be listening. But still, she stayed silent, and continued to watch for any danger.
Sansa pulled Theron's chin up to her face "Look at me Theon, look at me!" She pleaded, her eyes seeming to say a thousand words. Theon sobbed into her palm, hating her gaze, but somehow feeling comforted by it. She pulled him into an embrace. Somewhere in her soul said she should be angry with him, but with every twitch he made, each time he avoided her gaze, she realized what pain he endured. What he knew he might have endured for saving her. She gasped for air and sobbed into his shoulder. How quickly she'd come to care for the man who had betrayed her family and killed close friends. But that seemed a thousand years ago. In that span of time she had lost her father. Her mother. Her brothers and sisters, and the Sansa Theon and the rest knew. And if she was lost along with the way things used to be, than he certainly was as well. They were survivors. And they would survive together.
