I'm Fine

I push myself further into the hedge to hide myself in case the two of them wanted to come into the park.

"Do you want to go in?" The man asks. I finally notice him properly and pay attention to him. I can't see his face, but he sounded familiar. I wonder if he was Anna's new boyfriend or love interest or something.

"I'd like to, yes. Maybe it will help me move on." Anna comments.

Move on? What a joke. She certainly is a good actress, maybe that's why she's out of jail right now.

Or maybe, she never got in.

Even more reason for me to get revenge.

They're about to move through the gate when someone's phone starts to ring. I silently exhale a breath in relief as the man fumbles around in his pocket for his phone. He takes it out and I hope to see his face through his phone light but the woman's blocking his face from view.

"It's my ex-wife." The man announces as he answers the call. "Hello?...What do you mean?" He sounds tense and worried. "At this time?...Around when then?...Speak straight, I can't understand...Look, relax. Calm down. I'm heading over I'm really close by." The man hangs up and gives out a sheepish grin. "I'm really sorry, Anna. I'm going to have to cut this night short."

"What's wrong?" Anna asks in a concerned voice. Knowing her acting skills, I wasn't sure if that was even genuine or not.

"There's some confusion at home. One of my daughters left the house and didn't bother to inform anyone, my wife's worried sick." The man begins and it slowly starts to dawn on me.

Oh my god.

Why didn't it occur to me earlier?!

"Have they tried her phone?" Anna asks.

Holy shit, I think they're on a date!

"Yes, she left it at home. She didn't even take a jacket."

Shit Anna. Not my dad...

AY MY BEAUTIFUL TAPPENGERS boy have I missed you all.

I wasn't even expecting to be able to update daily but I'm writing less than 500 words a day so I thought it wouldn't be too big of a deal.

I know that some of you figured out that Ted's Ronnie's dad before she revealed it, but I also made a big mistake plot wise before the reveal — not that it ruined the story lol. I'm just sharing it so y'all know I made that mistake (and if you make a mistake, don't worry about it yk, just try to fix it).

So what happened was, at the end of Covenant, when I first introduced Ted, I wanted to make him Ronnie's dad. But since I haven't been in the Alyssa-Land universe for quite a while, I totally forgot about that and wrote over two chapters 😂😂😂 until I remembered that Ted was supposed to be Ronnie's dad.

Now I don't know how to explain Ronnie not being able to recognize her dad's voice when she first heard it but I'm going to say he had a cold or sore throat or something like that idk man, help.

But anyway, thanks for reading so far, I know it's pretty anti-climatic as of right now. But the journey is only beginning so HAVE SOME TEA AND SCONES MY FRIENDS
