The Different Side of the Shadow

Hello there.

My name is Kuroko Tetsuya, first year high school and number eleven in the Seirin Basketball Club. Basketball practice ended a few minutes ago and currently, I am walking towards home, passing by a pet store that contains a whole lot of cute puppies.

.

Puppies??

Taking a few steps back, I directed my gaze towards the printed window that says "Jonas Pet Store". Underneath the printing, I saw a whole lot of puppies playing, tugging each other's ears and tumbling around just for fun.

The site was very cute, I couldn't resist to take my eyes off of the window. My hands were openly glued to it too, and I believe I could sense a dark aura right beside me.

A dark aura??

Turning my head to my right and looking down, I saw Nigou, my dog and Seirin's Mascot, glaring at those innocent looking puppies. He was growling too and the aura kept adding up. I sighed and bent down so that I could pet him gently on the head. When I did, he cheered up and licked my hand, not before glaring one last look at the puppies on the window.

I sighed again before standing up.

'Must. Resist. Utlra. Cuteness. From. Puppies.' I ordered my brain. 'I already have Nigou and I must not cheat on him.'

That... just sounded so wrong on so many levels.

Forcefully, I turned my head away from the pet shop. I sighed again. 

And I pouted.

'The puppies...' I whined in my head.

'Puppies...' I kept thinking.

If it weren't for my pokerface, I would have been crying on the outside. Thankfully, my inner-Kise is just taking action inside my mind, crying and whining.

"C'mon, Nigou," I said and continued walking home with Nigou happily trotting by my side.

'What's wrong with having another puppy?' I then asked myself.

Automatically, my feet went to a stop when the light for the pedestrian lane turned red. I then looked down to Nigou, who is having the liberty to stay by my side at all times.

'Wouldn't Nigou like a companion?' I thought.

The light turned green and my feet automatically started walking while I was lost in my thoughts.

I heard Nigou whine and I looked down again.

His eyes looked at me worriedly.

'So... cute...' I thought and kneeled down to pet him and pick him up. I carried him in my arms like a baby.

A baby...

Oh no...

I forgot that Mother is pregnant!!!

With that thought in mind, I mentally slapped myself until I could think no more. I had only one thought in my mind:

'Puppies and their hypnotizing tricks!'
