Tessa's Point of View:
Lunch was going great. The conversation was flowing and JJ definitely picked a great spot. I couldn't help but notice he would look at me every once and a while and then look to Brian who was grin. The more JJ and I talked, the more I was starting to really like him.
"So are you two coming for the next two days of shooting, or is it other players?" I asked. I knew it was a three day shoot, but wasn't sure it was just JJ and Brian or other Texans. Brian answered, "I think it must be other players because we were just told about today.... right J?" JJ looked a little disappointed, "Yeah it must be some of the other guys." I wondered who else would be showing up.
About ten minutes later, I excused myself to use the restroom. "I'll go too," Megan said getting up from the booth. We made are way to the bathroom, when she turned to me and smiled, "You like JJ." I looked at her shocked; "Huh?" was all I managed to get out. Was it that obvious? Did he think I was pathetic? " "He's totally into you. I can tell. You both are easy to read." I ran my hand through my hair, "You think he likes me?" Megan let out a small laugh, "Yeah, and JJ isn't one to really notice girls, he's so focused on football, but I could tell the second he saw you this morning. I bet you he offers to drive you home." "Does he have a routine he usually follows with girls? Like he always offers to drive them home," I asked, becoming a little discouraged. "Oh no! I didn't mean it like that. Like I said he's so focused on football. He's not a douchebag, he's a really good guy. I only said that because I saw his face when I asked you to come with us. He was definitely disappointed." "Oh," I said. "Listen, Brian and I are really close to JJ, he's basically family. And I wouldn't have invited you to lunch or anything if I didn't like you. You're really nice and have a great personality, plus you have your shit together. You and I clicked since you saved me from that rude model. I think this might be the perfect match, you two! I had to laugh, "Let's not get a head of ourselves. We'll see what happens," I said as we made our way back to the table.
JJ's Point of View:
I couldn't do it. I couldn't find the right moment or words to invite Tessa to drive back to her car with me. I couldn't stop thinking that I blew it the whole drive home. I couldn't stop thinking about how she left with Brian and Megan and I didn't even get her number. Wow. I was seen as one of the best players in the NFL, I was seen as tough and strong. But yet, I couldn't work up the nerve to get her damn number or offer to drive her back to her car. Regret is all I'm feeling right now.
Megan's Point of View:
To say I was shocked that JJ didn't ask Tessa to ride back with him would be an understatement. I could see the disappointment on Tessa's face too, especially after our conversation in the bathroom. I know JJ, and he's not used to focusing his attention on women or anything like that, but it was so obvious that there's something between them. I decided right then and there to make it my mission to make sure these two didn't completely blow it. They both were afraid to make that first move, so I'll just help them out a little.....
Another quick update and filler to get to some good stuff.......poor JJ got a knee injury tonight and I'm really hoping it isn't too bad :(
