Jeongguk's heart was beating fast inside his chest, so fast he was afraid Taehyung was able to hear it.
They were on their way to the party and the whole thing just didn't felt right. Jeongguk was sat in the passenger seat, looking outside the window and trying to pay attention in the things he was seeing.
Like the lady walking her tiny fluffy dog, or the children following her close by because they obviously wanted to pet the dog, or the parents of those children trying to hold them up in order for them to no accidentally run over the dog with their excitement.
He tried paying attention to how the sky was clear, how the few stars he was able to see in this polluted sky were shining so amazingly, in the way the moon was lighting everything on its path.
Once Taehyung stopped in a red light, the younger tried to simply count how long it took for the light to turn into green, tried to focus on anything that wasn't how his leg was shaking so hard he could hear his foot tapping the floor of the car.
He was trying his hardest to not let how nervousness show, because Taehyung was right there beside him.
Taehyung was obviously wearing some expensive branded outfit, his pants were black and far more lose than Jeongguk's, he had a belt on it that the younger could swear it was really a tie and not a belt, but Taehyung made it work so incredibly that the younger was tempted to try that out as well, his shirt was a simple white button up one but it just made him look like the most beautiful person Jeongguk had ever laid eyes on.
The younger was trying his hardest to not look at Taehyung, because he thinks his heart wouldn't be able to handle all this mess of emotions at the same time.
He was doing a fairly good job with that, because he had managed to set them both into a comfortable silence after they greeted each other. Of course this wouldn't work all night long because once they arrived at the party he knew he would have to talk to Taehyung, but he was trying to worry about one thing at a time.
Taehyung parked the car in the parking lot of the place where the party would be happening and Jeongguk was now visibly breathing heavily.
The younger left the car and his legs were feeling like jelly, he really needed to calm the fuck down. It was just a party; he shouldn't be this anxious right now.
They got closer to the entrance of the place, Jeongguk could hear the music blasting loudly inside, the whole area outside of the place was already reeking of alcohol and possibly drugs and that made Jeongguk's stomach twist.
If the outside was already like this, he couldn't possibly imagine how it would be inside.
He didn't even take notice of it, but he had frozen in the middle of the walk to the line that would let them inside the place. Taehyung was almost reaching the end of the line when he turned to say something to the younger and didn't find him there.
Their eyes met once Taehyung started to look around for him and Jeongguk pondered if he should just run away really fast so Taehyung would still be able to go to the party but he wouldn't have to.
But before he could sprint away, the older was walking in his direction with a worried look on his face.
"Kookie, are you alright?" Taehyung asked him.
The younger tried to recompose himself, but it was just too hard. "I-I'm just nervous."
Taehyung smiled softly at him. "It will be okay. I'll be by your side the whole time and you can dance with me far in the back of the place where no one will see."
