Alice Redfern's mansion was considered the typical rich-family mansion, and Alice Redfern was considered the typical rich orphan. Went missing before her parents die, return three years later with a new friend and proceed to build up an empire. The people of the town were........wary of her mansion. It sat on the outskirts of town and it stood out like a sore thumb. Barely anyone went to the house and barely anyone left it. The only person they ever saw in town in daylight was the girl's butler, Marcus. They always thought that Alice never left the mansion in the day was because she was badly deformed. The people who saw her during a full moon say that she was covered head to toe in black, or rather a colour darker than black. However, they were as wrong as wrong could be. Alice Redfern was beautiful, and as she grew older she only gained more beauty. Now, at the age of eighteen, she is one of the richest people in the world.
{Alice's POV}
Daylight streamed through my windows as Marcus opened them.
"Come My Lady. You have a letter from the Queen of England."
I groaned. "Again! What did I do this time!"
Marcus laughed softly "nothing like that madam, you're invited to a ball."
I shot right up and grabbed the letter. "no, no, no.......wait...." I smiled, "a masquerade ball."
{MAGICAL TIME SKIP}
"It's four-o-clock My Lady. You best be getting ready. We have quite the trip to London."
"of course, just let me finish these papers."
I shuffled through the forms, letters, and taxes.
Sighing I put them all away and walked to my room. Where a beautiful satin and lace red dress sat. I put it on. Hating the corset of course. I was finishing my hair when my cat stalked in, laughing at me.
I glared at him, "what are you laughing at cat?"
"Oh, nothing My Lady, just at your struggle to tie that corset. you could've asked Marcus for help." He laughed again.
"that's not happening. Anyway, are you coming tonight?"
"Of course I am. your target for tonight is there. I'm not going to miss that."
"Oh haha. Stay hidden though. Unless you're turning human. Which you hate." I put the last pin in my sliver hair then grabbed my gloves and mask.
"I'll see you there madam." Then he vanished.
"Damn cat!!"
I sighed and made my way down the stairs.
"Yes, my lady is here." I heard Marcus's voice say loudly.
Taking the hint I put on my mask. I turned the corner to see a man with a mask on himself, I quickly put on my gloves.
"My lady, this is Sebastian Hunter. He works for the Queen as her Captain of the Guard, and he is here to escort you to the ball."
"You are not coming Marcus?"
"No Madam, I have some business to attend to." I met his eyes and readily understood.
"of course. I will see you when I return then." He nodded and I turned to Sebastian "shall we be off?"
"Indeed madam." He held out his arm and I took it.
Sebastian helped me into the carriage, then took his seat.
"A little tip Madam---"
"Please just call me Alice."
