When the taxi driver drops me off at mine and Chelseas apartment half an hour later, she isn't even home. I am both disappointed, because I wanted to exchange stories about last night for the rest of the day, but also proud because for the first time in months it seems like she actually had a good time.

As I slip off my shoes my stomach growls, and it hits me that I've barely eaten in the past 24 hours. I quickly survey the fridge and cabinets before deciding it would be easier to just go out and get something.

I considered just throwing on some different clothes and putting my hair up, but one look in the mirror made it very clear that a shower was necessary. My hair was no longer curly but a huge frizzy mess topped by the guys hat, and my eye makeup was severely smudged around my eyes, causing me to resemble a raccoon. I lift up my arms and quickly put them back down. I smell disgusting.

The shower is warm and soothing, and while I wash myself I allow my mind to travel back to last night for one last time before letting the water wash the night away. By the time I get out the memory is faded, and in a few days I won't even remember his face.

As I get dressed in some jeans and a sweatshirt, something in the mirror catches my eye and grabs my attention. A trail of hickeys starts at my collarbone and stops just above my underwear. It's beautiful, a work of art. I run my fingers over one on my stomach and chills run down my spine.

I guess the water can't wash away all traces of him.

I walk back to the house an hour later, stomach full and ready for a nap. But as soon as I walk through the door, Chelsea jumps on me.

"Where were you? I got back twenty minutes ago and you weren't here, I thought you might be dead or something!" she says as I try to pull her off of me. Usually I'm always accepting of a hug, but Chelsea looks even more disheveled than I did.

"I took a cab home and then I went to go get something to eat like an hour ago. The real question is where were you?" I said, raising my eyebrow at her. A blush rose to her cheeks as she sat me down on the couch and began to tell me about her night.

"Okay, so right when we got there you literally disappeared and Jess and Luke went off into a corner somewhere to do their usual thing, so Calum took me off to dance. I haven't been to a party in months and even when I went before I was with Matt and we always just sat around, so I was nervous as heck that I was going to look stupid. But Calum knew exactly what to do, and his confidence rubbed off on me and eventually I got the hang of it too. After a while I was dying for a drink so we went off and found a kitchen with a two empty shot glasses just randomly sitting on the counter so we figured they were clean enough, I mean they did have alcohol in them, right? Anyways, we had a shot and then some other stuff but we were really tired and didn't feel like dancing anymore, so we went to the backyard and layed in the grass and just talked for the longest time about nothing and everything until before I knew it I was on top of him. We just kissed and kissed, and neither of us tried to go further because we could both feel that we weren't really ready for that. Then we called a cab and went back to his apartment right near the university, watched a movie and kissed some more before we fell asleep. He gave me a ride home this morning, and here I am." she says, out of breath from that long, yet entirely adorable story.

"Oh god Chelsea, that's perfect!! Are you going to see him again?" I ask, grabbing her hands. A blush rose up her cheeks.'

"I gave him my number when he dropped me off, I'm hoping he calls in the next couple of days. I really want to see him again. When I'm around him I'm happier than I have been ever since Matt." her blush deepens and she looks down, grinning. I'm smiling too. This is a huge step for her.

"Enough about me though, what did you do last night after you mysteriously disappeared?" she raised her eyebrows at me.

I told her the whole story from last night, not leaving out a single detail. She gave a few squeals here and there at the best parts, but overall she didn't seem that surprised. Like I said, this happens a lot.

"Wow, so we both had fun last night." she said, a sly look in her eyes. I tilted my head back and laughed.

"Yah, I guess we did."
