Dear Diary,

Today is Halloween, and people with children were able to bring them to trick-o-treat at each office here at S.I.P. I brought Christy for an hour; she was dressed as little lion and she loved the attention.  She made out like a bandit with chocolate bars, loose candy, and even a nut covered apple. She has found a new friend in Claire. I think Christy enjoys Claire’s outgoing personality.

I took plenty of pictures that I sent to Christian (he is in South America for a business trip), the Greys and dad; most of them, though, have Sawyer in the background. Below is a picture of Christy enjoying the day with some of the other children. She is such a happy child; she makes me smile every step of the way.

Dear Diary,

I have been promoted at work – and I am ensured that Christian has nothing to do with it. I am to establish a children’s department and now Claire is my assistant. She is great, by the way. She keeps me on track with the mountain of deliverables and meetings that I am now required to attend..

Claire even coordinates with my ever demanding boyfriend’s schedule. There are no pictures for this entry, but maybe once I have a department established I will sneak a picture. Professionally, it is an exciting time for me.

Dear Diary,

I have not written in a while but today I want to write about the amazing rain forest trip that Christian arranged for us. We arrived in Gabon, an amazing southwestern African nation yesterday.

Large dense trees surround the lodge we are staying at and the ground is covered with spongy fallen leaves.  There are plants with leaves bigger than I am – the whole place leaves me speechless. We got up early in the morning for a trek through to the national park and we saw gorillas - in the wild – including a baby that was learning from its mother.

Also, we came across forest elephants. Dark brown and very different to the ones I have seen at the zoo back home. Christian let Christy pet a snake; I screamed and tried to pull her to me to the giggles and laughs of the both of them.

Christy made it up to me by giving me a facial; her tongue sticking out as she carefully spread cream with her little hands all over my face. She is a delight!

I’ll write soon, right now I have to prevent Christy from following a line of ants into the forest – of course security is nearby and I do not think they’ll allow it – but still I do not think I want to send a search and rescue party after her.

Here is a picture of the elephant wading in the river, and the little elephant hiding under her mother’s legs – isn’t it cute!

Dear Diary,

It is Thanksgiving and we are having dinner with the Grey’s tomorrow afternoon; but what I want to write about is the incredible trip we had this past five days.

This past Friday we flew to Akeno, Japan where Christian has been helping with a school for poor boys and girls. His company donated solar panels and food for close to ten years now; it surprised even Taylor.

On this trip we left Christy with Gail and expend four days in the small town of Akeno, looking over the food plan, housing, and school projects for the poor families in the region. Christian emphasized the need to educate both boys and girls; and that both should be given equal opportunities.
