Chapter 19
(Etienne's office)
Etienne
It's been a little over a week since the incident with Morgan trying to lure Seth out of my house. Although I've been putting on a brave front for my little warlock, I was pissed as hell that the delusional fucker got close enough to my house to cast a spell. I had Jacques and my enforcers working double time to make sure that it doesn't happen again. The new wards I've set round my property and my house was enough to render any paranormal senseless. If they didn't belong to my coven or sought permission to enter my territory beforehand then they were dead as soon as they set foot into my domain.
Seth and I have been practicing with his powers, he's getting stronger every day and the one time we attempted to merge our powers as one left me on a vicious edge of hunger and desire. The sheer energy we generated together was enough to leave my skin feeling too tight for my body. I felt an insatiable hunger burning deep in the pit of my stomach even now, days later. My fated has kindly fed me, and he's generously allowed me to gorge myself on his one of a kind blood. But I still have this driving need deep inside to fuck and feed from him until neither of us can walk.
Seth was just as powerfully affected as I was judging from the way he literally climbed my body and had his way with me until well past sunrise this morning. He's so thoroughly exhausted himself, that I had no choice but to leave him soundly sleeping in the middle of the afternoon to attend to coven business. If the business hadn't involved the paranormal elders, I would have stayed in bed, comfortably wrapped around my little love.
Through my open office door, I watched the hustle and bustle in the hallways of my home, as my coven members prepared the house to receive the elders and offer them the utmost comfort we could provide to the ancient leaders. I hated the politics and the grand standing when the judgmental old bastards decided that to intervene in certain situations.
Morgan with his fucked-up line of thinking and the warlocks he has managed to convince to fight for his lost cause could definitely be considered a situation. I just hated that I had to have them anywhere near my mate. They were intimidating enough to a blood born, fully informed paranormal. But to someone who was just learning and coming to grips with what he thought was a myth all his life until recently, had me rubbing my temples in attempt to soothe the pounding ache that was beginning to form there.
It was bad enough that the plan I had in mind was going to send the old fuckers into a state of shock, but I had to make sure that it was a risk Seth was willing to take in order for us to get Morgan out of our lives for good. A summoning hasn't been performed for over a millennium now. It took a great amount of energy and powerful magic to literally drag another paranormal being through time and space to whatever location you choose, but I didn't see any other way, and waiting for Morgan to stage another attack was wearing on my already thin nerves.
Before Jacques had gotten his informant out of Morgan's compound, the old warlock had placed wards strong enough to repel my efforts in breaching them. Again, I could have used Seth's and I combined powers, but we both had to get control of merging our powers to effectively use it. With the way I am feeling now, and with the fact that my beloved is still asleep this late in the afternoon we still had a way to go in order to merge and successfully use our combined magic, thus the need for the elders and the ancient powers.
"Etienne. Why didn't you wake me up?" Seth's quiet voice had me snapping my head up and looking towards the doorway to my office. My cock immediately responded to the sight of my mate looking decadently sleep rumpled. His porcelain skin was still flushed warm from our bed. The idea that he was naked under the blanket currently sagging off his delicate shoulder was enough to have my fangs descending through my gums.
