Alex's POV

"NO WAY! REALLY?! WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME SOONER?!" Charlie screams at me making me regret telling him.

I knew he would react like this, which is why I waited until we were walking home together to tell him.

"Charlie, calm down. Or else I won't tell you anything else that happened," I threaten. He gasps and his eyes widen with fear.

"You wouldn't dare," he responds quietly.

"Oh, I would," I say making him gasp again. "Now shut up and let me finish telling you what happened.

He does as I say, but not without mumbling something most likely offense under his breath.

"So basically what happened was this. I was bored during study and I didn't want to text you because you were in gym and I assumed you wouldn't be able to respond. So I texted Taylor and asked her for ideas for things to do. Then she texted me that she was gonna leave class to come talk to me for a little and that I should meet her in the library. I was already there so that part was easy, but when she got there I decided that I should do what you told me to do. I got really nervous and kinda shouted it at her, I think she was surprised cause she only said "what" but then she said she liked me too and that she did want to go on a date with me."

When I finished talking, I looked at him to see his reaction. But all I saw was a blank face.

"Huh."

"Huh? What is 'huh' supposed to mean?" I ask.

"I don't know, I expected something better than you nervously blurting it out. Then again, I guess I was being unrealistic. Knowing it was you," he comments obnoxiously.

"You're a dick you know that?"

"I'm not a dick, I like dick. There's a difference."

As mad as I was I couldn't hold in my laughter. I looked at him and noticed the smug little grin on his face, then punched him in the shoulder.

"OW! That's a hate crime! I didn't realize you hated gay guys Alex," he says fake-shocked.

"You're so annoying," I chuckle.

"Yeah yeah I know, love you too. Now, where are you taking Taylor on your first date?"

That caught me by surprise, I was so caught up in the fact that she said yes that I haven't thought about it.

"Um."

"Oh come on, you have to have an idea."

"Well, I..." I say, still completely blank of all ideas.

"You're kidding!" he exclaims bursting out laughing.

"It's not my fault! I just moved here!" I yell in my defense. "Aren't you supposed to help me?"

"Ugh fine. Hmm. Bring her to the movies," he suggests.

"I don't know, that's a little corny."

"Hmmmmm." He seems to be thinking hard. "Oh, I got it! Take her to the sports center!"

Would you look at that, behind all that sarcasm, bad jokes, and snarky comments, Charlie is smart after all.

"That's... perfect. Wow thanks, Charlie!" I say.

"I am officially the BEST gay wingman/matchmaker ever. What would you do without me?"

We both laugh and talk about what I should do on the date tomorrow until we reach Cambridge Road and I have to go. After saying our few quick goodbyes, I start to walk over to my house.
