She took a step in the open doorway, her boots clicking softly as she walked on the old hardwood floors. She looked at a messy drawing of a cat in a midnight blue cloak. She smiled gently, taking it from the counter, holding it in her paws. She carefully folded it, slipping it into her bag.

This is Mordkatze Schatz. She is not from this earth. She is a cat, obviously. She is an adventurer, a protector.

She turned from the kitchen, moving towards the living room. it was pretty empty, scattered drawings and crayons were in the carpet. She knelt beside the mess, tail swaying slowly.

"Astrid..? Are you here...?" She called softly, "I have snacks..!" She stood again.

There was no reply. Her ears drooped a bit as she pouted.

She walked towards a staircase, looking up it. it was pitch black up there. She took a breath and stepped onto the first step, it creaked loudly, scaring the bejesus out of her. Another step. And another. She was nervous till she got to the top. She saw drawings on the walls as she walked.

"Astriiiid..." She hummed softly, "ist jemand zu Hause..?"

She creaked open a bedroom door, looking inside. It wasn't her room.

She walked in, opening the blinds, so she could see. The closet door and the carpet in front of it had dragged/splattered blood on it. Her heart stopped for a moment, quickly opening the door, getting blood on her paws, tears welling up up her eyes. She opened it to find a man, with a gun beside him, head bleeding.

A tear dripped off her chin. She removed her cloak, setting it on the bed, as she got closer the the dead human. She first checked a pulse, none. Then she checked the would, maybe a few days.. to a week old?

The blood was thick, so it was still gooey. It got on her pants and paws. She stood, reaching for her cloak when she saw it was gone.

Her ears perked, eyes darting around the room. this is where she set it! The child is here.

She started towards the door, "Astrid, honey, please, I need my cloak..." She whispered, looking down the hallway.

She started down in, slowly moving a hand into her pixie bag, getting a small bit of fairy dust. "I have some snacks if you're hungry...."

She got to a child's room. She knocked quietly, holding the small bit of fairy dust in her fist.

There was a very quiet shift of movement on the inside, then the door opened slightly. The child was just barely taller than her, with her cloak on.

"Qui es-tu?" Astrid asked, with a pause from Mordkatze, she blew the pixie dust in the child's face, catching her when she passed out.

Astrid woke up on something soft and warm, she sat up looking around. She was in a small glass jar full of the softest cotton you she had ever felt.

She looked out of the jar, the world was whizzing by quickly, almost making her too dizzy to look.

She glanced at her captor, 'that cat lady! She made me tiny!!'

She stood up, sinking into the cotton like it was deep snow, knocking on the glass, Mordkatze didn't respond, though she was starting to slow down.

She came to a walk when she got to the edge of a thick forest. A narrow path disappeared into the darkness.

Mordkatze started in, as they got deeper, the pitch black didn't seem so dark. Suddenly a little person with wings.. a fairy!

There were many of them, glowing like fireflies, in different colors. Some whizzed, some hovered, some sat on random plants.
