So a week has passed and school was as normal as the old one, except I actually had people to talk to, that is. I was sitting at our normal lunch table which was in the center of the whole cafeteria. Brent and Mike were arguing about juice, Jenna was talking to some teacher and here I was, watching Jinx read her book for no apparent reason.
"So, Jinx, how's school?" You can't blame me for my social awkwardness, alright? Good.
"Fine."
"How about your bike? Top shape?"
"Yep."
"Got any boyfriend?"
"Nope."
"Girlfriend?"
"Really?!" She smacked my head with her book which just so happened to have about six hundred pages.
"Can't stop a guy from being curious, don't ya' think?" I laughed.
"Oh yah?" She raised an eyebrow, tucked the book in her bag and took out a deck of cards. I eyed her curiously as she shuffled the deck of cards. "Pick a card." She spread out the whole deck in her hands, waiting for me to pick one, so I did. She turned her head and looked away. Four of diamonds. "Now, put it back in." I followed pursuit and put it back with its deck. "Okay then, good. Now, start shaking this deck and flicking the top card for no apparent reason." She did as she said while I simply watched. "Now check your uniform pocket." I checked it. "BULLSHIT" it said.
I gave her a flat look and she smirked. "That's what I think about a guy being curious."
"How'd you do that?" I was amused by her little magic act.
"A magician never reveals her secrets."
"So basically, you have so much time in your hands that you can learn simple magic tricks?"
"Magic can come in handy someday. You'll never know. It's helped me a ton of times."
"Would you care to explain?" How could magic help in life?
"I'll save that for another time. Check your hand." I was confused as to where this was going but I did anyway. Turned it from side to side, not seeing anything then I pulled the sleeve up. "DIMWIT"
I was in complete and utter shock. "H-how did you do this?! Seriously?! I could've sworn that this wasn't here this morning!"
"Yeah, I'm not telling you just yet."
"Yep, that's Jinx for ya', just too secretive." Mike adds.
"Oh yeah, wanna know what I think? Check your collar." He did as she said and pulled out a strip of paper saying 'Dumbass'
"How you do this, I'll probably never know." He face-palmed, laughing at the stupidity of the situation.
"That's right, biatch!!!!!" She was smirking like there was no tomorrow.
"You know, I've grown to like shy and quiet Jinx better than the one now." Mike mutters, smiling.
"Yeah. Calvin, do your magic and change her back." Brent encourages, pushing my back.
"What are you guys talking about? I don't have any power over that girl, I'm simply entertainment to her with my retarded actions." I protest.
"That's right, Mike, Brent, stop acting so stupid and act retarded for once, like Calvin here." She locked my head under her arm and started messing my hair.
"Who knew that being a retard was actually good." I smile. "Come on, Jinx or should I say Rebel, show me some other magic trick, I have entertained you enough, it's your turn."
