The new year has started at Hero International Charter School (H.I.C.S) hero academy. Upcoming super human students have filled out their applications and waiting for the school's entrance exams. First borns from all over the world are preparing themselves for the challenge of the hero academy's entrance exams each of them creating their starting lines for their paths of heroes.  Now for the first time ever in the school's history, second borns or later borns have the opportunity to enter the entrance exams for the hero academy. Bringing together both humans and super-humans in the hero world. With the best curriculum in the world second born have to try harder to excel and work together with first borns in order to coexist in the same school.

Chicago, Illinois July 20th, 2078. First and second borns have returned from three months of training at the hero training camps in New York to prepare the H.I.C.S entrance exams. A second born Maryanne tyler still crushed from the intense and bone breaking training. A student slaps Mary in the back with a cold touch as Mary struggles to get at least one step in after the bus ride.

"Not as easy as you thought aye second born."

The other second borns were too tired to walk just like Mary and some even puked after the long bus ride. Bones aching and their muscles were sore. The first borns were full of energy, it seemed like they could take on the whole world. Mary sat down at a bench and tried to relax after three months of back breaking work. She placed her right hand over her chest and felt her heart beat beating faster. Mary then looked inside her bag to find a memento from her late brother. It was necklace, the pendant was in a shape of a shield, on the back it said only one word....Hero.

"I miss you bro." She slowly cringed her hand holding the pendant tightly. "I'm gonna be a great hero just like you were. It's a promise."

Mary's mother pulled up to the curb came outside the van and helped Mary with her bags. Mary was insistent that she hold the bags herself but her mother was stubborn. She saw how  Mary struggled to move let alone carry her bags so she took her bags and stuffed them in the back of the truck.

"Oh my god look at you. You're sweaty, you smell like you just bathed in a gym locker, and you look like death is starring down at you."

Mary smiled by what her mother said. It almost made her laugh. She dragged herself into the shotgun seat of the van. Mary's mother hoped on the driver's seat, started the engine, and drove on home. Mary looked out the window whiled driving back home. She glances over the streets, playgrounds, the apartment buildings and looked just looked outside. She wished to be a hero like her brother, she dreams of helping and inspiring people, giving them hope like all the heroes in the world. Mary's mother looks over at Mary who is just looking out the passenger window. She concerns that Mary is pushing herself to hard, and worries that she might not get into the school she wanted. 5 minutes away from home Mary falls asleep. Her mother looking over her and looks back to when she was baby. Her little baby girl. Her husband was a hero and her son was a second generation super-human and  hero. She loved them both but now all she has left is Mary. She see that Mary is a lot like her brother and father, always the one to jump in first, saving those who need saving, protecting people from villains. She fears that Mary won't be able to live up to her father and brother as the heroes the once were.

Mary's mother parks the car in front of their apartment and looks over Mary before turning off the engine. Mary's mother strokes Mary's hair while she's asleep.

"Oh baby girl....you're just too stubborn to quit.  You're just like your brother." Mary's mother walks out of the car goes to the passenger side grabs her and carries her upstairs to their floor. Mary's mother carries Mary to their room, 225 and unlocks the door with her key. She then brings Mary to her room and lays her down on her side. As she was walking out she looked over Mary from her door. She looked quite peaceful when she slept. She then closes the door to Mary's room and walked back downstairs to grab Mary's bags and bring them into their apartment.
