Darkness

I've always been afraid of the dark.
It's where monsters hide.
Where dangers rise.
So when it's dark I lock the door and hide inside.
I avoid the dark as much as possible, but outside it's dark.
Then there comes the dilemma:
Do I leave the curtains open so I can see danger coming?
Or do I close them and go on without knowing, knowing what's outside?
I always close the curtains and crawl under my covers, nightlight on, wary of the shadows.
I'm afraid something is in my closet.
It's impossible, there's simply no space.
But it's dark, a dark hole.
I've always been afraid of the dark.
I don't like the winter, more dark, less light.
I don't want to walk my dog at night.
All alone in the darkness.
What if the monsters from the dark got her?
Darkness is the light of crime, murders at night.
Darkness hides.
Darkness covers.
Darkness gives me the feeling something is staring at me, following my every move.
The dark is the complete lack of light, all absorbing.
In the dark you can't see.
I've always been afraid of the dark.
