Chapter One
She kissed her baby for the last time then said her final goodbyes. As she walked away she felt a wave of emotions hit her. Questions filled her mind instantly. She did not turn back, she only kept walking. I couldn't see who she left the child with, a person in all black, with blazing orange eyes. I had never seen anyone so flawless and dark. There was something strange happening here. I could see it written on the mothers face.
I had never experienced such a bad feeling in the pit of my stomach before. It was a feeling that I couldn't push it away. When I arrived home I tried to push it away...but this bad feeling was never going to go away.
Being a detective with the NYPD you see nothing but suspicious things. New York is full of mysteries waiting to be solved, dreams waiting to come true, and people being mugged. Not everything about New York is glamorous.
I went to my office to do research. Here for a while, I haven't really had many new cases. Just some that went on and on, but were never really given a verdict. I never imagined having this job, but here I am. Normally I don't get involved with something I see on the streets.
The main thing a detective does is investigate. So I know if I get involved with this, I could get in a lot of trouble. I need to do what's right though. This is right.
Chapter 2
I began my search with the database of Faces. I used the only descriptive stuff I knew. For both the mother and the man in black.
For the woman: Long brown hair, green eyes, 5' 3'-6', and tan skin.
For the man: Black long hair, orange eyes, 6' 0'-5', and pale skin.
There's so many people in NYC, but no one has the eyes like I saw....no one...
I started to feel in utter distress! What was going on?! I decided there was only one thing I could do at this point.
I headed back to the mall complex where I had saw it. I walked up to the security offices and they led me back to see the footage from that day.
I even left there feeling hopeless. They knew what they were doing, but obviously, I didn't! The camera's being shown at every angle did not give me a single picture I could use.
There was one thing from it that I could use...the baby. I could get a clear shot of what the baby looked like. Dressed in pink, a bib stained with yellow, and tears rolling down her 4 month old cheeks.
At that moment a question hit me like a ton of bricks. The inside of my head reeled into a whole format of new questions. "Why would they only hide their faces? Was the baby even theirs? Why in a crowded place? How did they know the exact coordinates to meet where the cameras didn't cooperate with one another? Could they be insiders?"
So many questions, but could I ever find any answers?
~~So there's the first two chapters! Tell me what you think :) ~~
