People are only a fraction of what the world should be. However, it seems to revolve around us anyways. I don't like people much.. I tend to love watching nature more than I like watching people. I hold on to the beauty of what we could be instead of watching the horror that we actually are. Why can't we just be like this beautiful bird with this amazing mix of reds, or like that blue jay over there. We can't even begin to compare to the beauty of these creatures.

I woke up this morning sort of wishing I didn't. I don't want to go to school today, or ever. First day of eighth grade is supposed to be exciting, according to everyone around me. I don't see how school could be so phenomenal. What are they ACTUALLY teaching us? That shoulders turn boys on more than anything? That bra straps are repulsive? I feel as if the school body shamed us more than anything.

Finally crawling out of bed I throw some clothes on. No, nothing fancy, it may be the first day of school but I still have about four more of those to go to make it through year twelve and be done. Just a pair of jeans and a black shirt. I put my hair up in a messy bun and look over at my make up table. I look great! Hopefully no one important sees me. I exit my room and the first amazing thing to greet me is my boxer. She is so rambunctious, I love it. She excites me.

I finish getting ready and I wait for my mom to get up and take me to school. I might be late on day one, that's always good. I fiddle with my phone and just move apps around. I am not exciting, I don't have games on my phone. My boxer, Riley, lays her head on my arm and whines. This poor baby, I feel so bad for leaving her alone in this house. I pet her and give her a kiss on her forehead.

"AUTUMN LETS GO!" My mom is yelling at me, yet she is still in her room. I don't understand this lady. I get up, grab my stuff, and walk outside to stand next to her red Ford F150. I stand there for a few minutes until she finally walks outside and unlocks the truck. I open the door, throw my stuff inside, and sit in the front passenger seat. I plug my headphones into my phone and put them in my ears. I scroll through my music for something good to listen to. I finally decided on Nightmare by Avenged Sevenfold. I set my phone on my lap and mouth the lyrics to the song.

I stare out the window and watch as the trees rush by. Luckily I don't live exceedingly far from my school. My mom pulls up in front of the school and I hop out quickly. As I grab my bag I look up at her and she smiles at me and told me she loves me. I return the favor and mention that I love her too as I shut the door and run into the school. I find my schedule at the front desk and move on to find my classes.

I walk into my first class of the day with about twenty seconds left to spare before the bell rings. I sit in the only open seat and stare at the wall bobbing my head to my music. As I hear the bell ring I drudgingly pull my headphones out of my ears and put my phone in my pocket.

The teacher has started gathering papers onto a clip board and stood in the front of the class. She began to check attendance, calling students out by name. I am usually at the top of the list so after she calls my name I stare at the wall again and stop paying any attention until she is done.

She had finished checking the attendance and began passing out a class syllabus and a "Let me get to know YOU" paper. You know, the classic DAY 1 adventures. I grab a pencil out of my bag and begin to write the same old bullshit that I write every year.
