The warm cup of hot chocolate rested in your hands as your gaze focused on the dark haired boy in front of you, who cupped a large mug of coffee.

The cafe was dimly lit, the streetlights outside being the main source of light alongside the tea lights which littered the tables of the nearly empty cafe. Rain pelted against the windows joined by the cracking of thunder on some occasions.

"She just wouldn't leave me alone," Calum huffed, leaning back in his seat and grinning when he'd realized he'd made you giggle.

"Just couldn't resist your charming good looks." you giggled, rolling your eyes playfully.

"Can you blame her?" Calum asked, his thick eyebrows wiggling in your direction.

You simply laughed, shaking your head and glancing down to your hot chocolate; your mind taking you to your own love life.

You and your boyfriend had been dating for a few months and whilst you thought it was going well, it seemed he'd grown bored. He rarely took you on dates or even socialized with you for that matter.

As soon as you'd made it official he became extremely over-protective, telling you to not speak to boys, especially Calum. Whilst he would be out with different girls every night, whether that be at clubs or in general.

You were never one to be jealous which is why you never mentioned it to him, but in all honesty, you were scared at how he would react. When you bought up how distant he was being he flipped out, telling you to stop being so clingy.

"So, how's douche bag doing?" Calum sighed, flicking his eyebrows up when your eyes met his.

You looked back down at your hot chocolate and stirring it slowly, contemplating whether you should be honest or not. Calum had never been the biggest fan of your boyfriend and for good reason, he'd been nothing but a dick to him.

"I think he's cheating on me." you sighed, tucking your hair behind your ear as you glanced out the window; a crack of lightning illuminating the sky.

"Doesn't surprise me," Calum huffed, "what does, is the fact you're still with him. You could do so much better."

You didn't respond, instead, you chose to focus on the sound of the rain hitting against the windows, making the street outside appear blurry.

It put you in a daze, leaving the two of you in a comfortable silence. Calum continued to sip on his coffee, not bothering to pursue any further conversation.

You were snapped back into reality a few minutes later by the screech of Calum's chair, your head snapped up to meet his eyes which were focused on you, a small smile gracing his face. You joined him, setting your empty mug on the table as you slowly rose.

"Come on, you can stay at mine tonight." he smiled, draping an arm loosely over your shoulders as you walked out of the small cafe, immediately being greeted by the shower outside.

Calum unzipped his jacket making you turn to him with a quizzical look, a grin plastered on his face. "What?" you asked, as he continued to stare at you.

"It's cold, we'll keep each other warm. Now come here before I freeze." he chuckled, his jacket wide open.

You walked over to him, snuggling into him, the back of your head resting against his chest. He zipped his jacket up, the zipper resting under your chin as you were engulfed in his warmth.

The first step was awkward, your limbs getting tangled with his as you tried to move at the same time but after a few steps, you created a rhythm, moving as one.
