I walk out of P.E and start towards the main office where my mom is bringing my soccer clothes, cleets, and shin guards. I see James walking towards his bus and disappearing through the doors. Then I see my mom, tired, and holding my doufle bag in her hand.

"You okay mom?" I say as I release the doufle bag from her hand, now looking worrily at her. She just smiles at me, holding her hand to my face beginning to speak, " I'm okay, but when you are finished, call me and I'll be here to pick you up okay? She says pulling me closer so she can kiss my forehead. "  Have fun." She says lastly before going into the parking lot and going into her car.

When I get to the Soccer field, Samantha and Diana wave me over and I go sit with them in the bleachers, while many more students come filling in the empty spaces of the bleachers. The boys are sitting on the bleachers on the other side of the field, away from us girls. "You girls excited? I am hoping to get on the team." Diana says. Both Samantha and I nod eagerly and when we look away from Diana, I see a female, with tanned skin, her hair tied in a bun, wearing sports apparel, who I presume to be our coach, and Kayla comes from behind, catching up to her and then walking beside her, both stopping in front of us girls.

"Kayla is the captain of the soccer team, since her freshman year, so thats why she's with coach Davidson." Samantha says due to our faces being visible with confusion. The coach puts her hands up to get our attention, but the students around us continue on in their deep conversations that have to do with boyfriends, shaving their bodies, butt lifts, and all things teenage girls usually talk about, which I can see aggrivates the coach.

Then I watch her as she grabs the whistle that hangs below her chest, brings it to her mouth, and blows so hard that a very high pitch is released, and all the girls gasps and the girl in front of the coach screams as if she is being killed. "Now that I have finally gotten your attention, I do hope that from now on I do not have to use the whistle, but when my hands go up everyone needs to shuts up." Coach Davidson says smiling, not in a friendly way, but threatening us. " Since we have new ones here, I would like for all those who have already been on this team to get up and stand behind Kayla, while we see how many new ones we have today."

We watch as about  twenty sutdents line up, leaving ten of us on the benches worried about what the coach will say to us. Coach D. analyzes each and every student on the bleachers and begins smiling and waves Kayla to come up in front of her to talk to us.

"Usually we have the newbies demonstrate their skills to us, but this year we are going to have the newbies go against the best of the best on the Eagles team. Kayla Explains.

"Wait, how is that fair? You all are the best, and some of us are trying soccer for the first time." She whines.

Kayla Smirks. "Well, then I suggest you bring in your inner soccer persona because to be on the Eagles, you need to be the best. I am sorry its your first time, but if you do not think you are cut out for this then by all means leave. We need those who are determined to win and try their very best playing on this team." She concludes. Everyone starts mumbling and staring at each other in disbelief in what is being said to all of us.

"Alright now that Kayla has said all of that, all of the newbies grab a red pinny, and all those wearing that pinny will be on one team, while the regular team members will play without pinnies. Since there is not enough of you on a team, I will allow two members from the regulars to act as goalie and whatever position is left. " Everyone has their pinnies on and coach D looks in our direction and starts walking over to us.

"Sam, good to see you here. I hope you are as good as your brother is. What position do you plan on playing to try and get on the team?" She ask genuinly curious.

"Mid Defender." She says confidently.

Coach D then nods with approval, then looks at both Diana and I surely wanting to know what position we will be playing as today. "I want to play left forward." I say and she looks at me for a few seconds before turning to Diana, which by the way shakes her shoulders clueless as to what positions there are in soccer.

"Since you do not know, you will be mid fielder. That's a person who stays in the middle and helps the forwards and defenders." Coach D speaks to her as if she is a child. Gosh she is hardcore and I do not want to get on her bad side, so I know I will have to do my best today.

Everyone then gathers on the field and the girl who will help me in the right forward position is named Clara, who seems to know what she is doing. Our team gets the ball first, and is place in the middle of us, then coach D blows the whistle and we begin.

Clara has the ball, and starts upward towards the goalie on the opposite team, dribbling past them smoothly.

Wow she's good!

Clara is already inside the goalie box and I yell "Man on!" Then she hoots the ball on the lower right of the goalie, and she is to slow to catch it and we score! "Good job Clara." The coach yells out, jotting something down on a paper.

We are back in the middle and  the whistle blows signaling the other team to start towards the goal. Kayla is the forward on my left side, her right, and she comes my way, and I run towards her, slide tackling her and retrieving the ball, passing it to clara, who dribbles some more defenders and then passes me the ball. I am thirty feet from the goalie when I see Kayla in the corner of my eye sprinting to take the ball away, but I fake the ball to the left, but actually take it to the right, confusing her and then passing it back to Clara, who then pushes the ball up and passes it to me again. When I am facing the goal with my back, the ball comes to me in the air and I fall backwards, hitting the ball with my feet, which then flies into the left corner of the net, while I land on my back, flipping back upright.

Everyone starts cheering and I even see the boys from the other side get up, throwing their fists in the air yelling out to me. I stand somewhat embarrased, but feeling the adrenaline rush in me and then the offense team puts the ball in the middle again. Kayla looks pretty annoyed and angry, that as soon as the whistle blows, she comes my way with the ball and elbows mein the side of my ribcage, which puts me on the ground in pain. I look up from where I sit and the coach did not even catch that foul.

When I finally get up, Samatha works hard to keep the ball away from our goalie, but then Kayla scores. After the goal Kayla does, Coach D blows the whistle and calls us to line up side by side one another.

"That was indeed a good game to watch and I am happy to say that Sam, Clara, and Anamarie will definitely be selected on the team. Also, Anamarie." She pauses looking at me, making me feel nervous. "That was one amazing bicycle kick that you did, and I would love to see more of it this soccer season." She says smiling.  I let out a sigh and Samantha pushes me with her shoulders and we both smile happily, but then that smile fades when I see Diana, who I am not sure will make it on the team. During the whole match, she was just so confused and just stayed in one spot, not helping one bit.

Coach D. starts cutting people, which include Diana and that girl who was whinning earlier, and she just sobs saying "Its not fair." Only Sam, Clara,  and I stay. Diana smiles at us and waves us goodbye, which really makes me sad , and Sam gestures her hand into her ear like a phone saying she will call her.

"One thing before you guys leave that you need to know is Soccer season will not start until January, and from here on to December, we will be conditioning and training you guys for January. I expect everyone to be in top shape by that time, and I don't want to love no more than three games. Alright?"

Everyone nods and starts leaving to their designated homes.

Finally, I call my mom and she picks me up and I explain the whole soccer experience and she smiles saying" Good job" with a tired look and continues driving.

Today I really felt special and tomorrow will be a better day for me, I can feel it.
