Calolad
Sacred groves, Old forest
------------
"Calolad," a raspy voice whispered through the bushes. I looked towards them, struggling to see in the dense fog that blanketed the forest.
"Calolad," The voice said louder, this time I saw its owner walking towards me, a pale, burly man, clad from head to toe in leather armor with his beloved sword strapped to his back.
"I was Calolad before I met you Jerigo. Now I'm old, fat, and distracted," I said smiling, "What is it that you need?" Jerigo took a deep a breath, then turned his left hand to reveal an apple he was clenching.
"Two hundred years ago we gave Trotha blood to this ground, and for two hundred years the ground has repaid us with apples. Beautiful, plentiful, red apples." He said examining his fruit.
As I looked at him I noticed the apple was green, not red as it should be. Pointing his left hand upwards Jerigo added "These are green, they all are!" As I looked up through the dispersing fog I found that he was indeed telling the truth every last apple was green, but why?
"Not since Adacius was young has this valley spawned green apples, by Teajan this is abso- AGHH!"
I dropped to my knees as I felt a sharp pain in my right shoulder, something had stabbed me, a warm feeling was spreading through my my chest. I looked down at my leather armor to see blood running down my torso, I looked toward Jerigo whose arms were being restrained by two children, while his throat was slit by a young fair haired woman dressed in ragged leather armor and deer pelts . From the corner of my eye I saw the gleam of an axe swinging toward my head.
