Resurrection Z

We are pulled over the side of the road since Murphy always has to pee.

"No Zs in sight." I said looking through the my scope.
"Anybody else worried about Mr. Sunshine outhere?" said Charlie

"I know, he's looking worse." I said
"Yeah, he was pretty creepy to start with." said Cass
"Come on, guys. Give him a break. It's the Apocalypse. None of us look our best. It's like one long bad hair day." said Doc.
"Speaking of hair, what's with all the bald patches?" asked Addy

"Maybe that vaccine is like zombie chemo." I said
"Or maybe that vaccine isn't working." said 10k
"What do you think, Doc? I've seen Zs look better than him. Will he make it to California?" Asked Warren.

"If we haul ass." said Doc.
"If he goes zombie, we might have to put him down." said Mac.
"Dibs on piking him." said Addy
"If he turns, piking him is the least of our problems." said Charlie
"What?!" yelled Murphy

"Pit stop's over. Let's get moving." yelled Warren
"I have a ginormous bladder. Sue me." said Murphy
As we got in the truck we pulled out a map that Hammond had and saw a place called Province Town. It said that it is a resupply place so we decided to head there.
"Actually I'm looking forward to getting some food and a hot shower at Province Town." said Doc
"Well don't get your hopes up. We don't even know if this place still exists." said Charlie

"If his contact there is the same Major Williams from my National Guard days, we might actually get some help." said Warren
"So we're relying on the map of a dead guy?" said Murphy

"In case you forgot that dead guy was a hero who died protecting you." said Warren
"Just because he's dead doesn't make him a hero." said Murphy
"Well I hope Province Town does exist because we're out of just about everything but hope." said Charlie.

As we pull up to then gated entrance there was a Z running towards us.

"I got it." I said as I shot it in the head.
"Surrender all weapons?" said Mac as he read the sign.

"Are they serious?" said Addy

" Looks like." said Mac
"What do you wanna do?" asked Warren

"Their town, their rules. Looks like we don't have much of a choice." said Charlie
"Stop right there! This is a private compound. I'm gonna have to ask you to turn around and go back the way you came." Said the guy coming out of the shed by the gate.
"I'm looking for Major Williams. Joe Williams." said Charlie
"And who are you?"

"I'm Sergeant Charles Garnett, Georgia National Guard. We've known each other going back pre-z."
"Wait there. Your crew stays in the truck and if they try to get out or we see a weapon, we'll fire."
"Easy everyone. Charlie's got it under control." said Warren
"So you're calling him Charlie now?" said Murphy

"Yeah, and I'm gonna start calling you my bitch if you don't shut up." said Warren.
"Well holy shit. It's the ghost of Charlie Garnett. Never expected to see you again. At least not alive." said Joe
"Hey, Joe. Didn't expect to see you again either. Looks like we're both still standing." said Charlie
"Looks like. Last time I saw you, you were pulling my ass out of a ditch full of Zs. You're the first person I've seen from before. How the hell you end up here?" asked Joe

"I'm actually on a mission for the government, if you can believe that. We came from New York and we haven't eaten in a few days." said Charlie
"New York? Haven't seen anyone east of the Mississippi for over a year. How many of you are there?" asked Joe

"Eight. Including a doctor." said Warren
"Real doctor?"

"Sort of. He's watched a lot of E.R." I said.
"All right. Come inside and tell me your story. We'll get you some food. But the truck stays outside. Let them in. And of course you'll have to check your weapons." said Joe
"Just make sure we get these back." said Warren
"Why is this not making me feel any safer?" I said
