That's the question that has been in my head since hours ago. I told Nico that I'll think about it. I really have to think about it.
So, will I come?
Okay, that's the thousandths time I asked to myself. I had enough. I need someone's opinion. But who?
I should tell Nozomi about this problem. Yep, she really has to know about this.
I decided to call Nozomi. After a few rings, she picked up.
"Hello?" I started. "Nozomi, I have a big problem!"
"Whoa, slow down Makichi. Take deep breaths and tell me what is it."
"So, Nico just reminded me that next week is her mother's birthday whereas I will fly to Hokkaido at that time. What should I do? The fly is thrice a month and I can't wait another 3 months. I'm not that patient, you know?"
"Hmm... Let me think..." She paused for a moment, and then came back with a brilliant plan.
"How about this. I'll say to her that she can celebrate her mom's birthday in Hokkaido. What do you think?"
"Um... Do you think Nico will agree? Cause I don't think so."
"Of course she will, I'll force her. Or else, I'll tell her that I'll fly back to her place and give her a washi-washi. Hihihi...."
I giggle a little. She really is reliable, and hilarious. "Thanks Nozomi for the advice. I really appreciate that."
I got a reply from her and then she hung up. Finally I've calmed myself.
It's time to pack my things.
★ Nico's POV.
She's been weird lately.
What's disturbing her? Looks like Maki is hiding something from me. But what?
3 days has passed and still, she barely even call me. We used to call or chat. But, she didn't even do that from the past 3 days. She'll talk to me if I start the conversation. She also has been very secretive lately, I don't know why. She often stays in her room either.
Ugh, what should I do??
I'm worried if something is bothering her because of me. And because of her, I've been rejecting perform invitations at the moment. My manager got frustrated but I don't care. I can't perform if I'm on a bad mood like this.
Beeeeeeeep......
I got a phone call from Nozomi. Excellent! Finally I got a friend to talk to.
"Hi, Nozomi!" I started. I think I'm too enthusiastic. I hope she doesn't get frightened at me.
"Hello, Nicochi! It's been a while."
"Yup, it is. Good thing that you called, I'm super bored here."
"Isn't Maki around?"
"Nope, she's acting weird lately, don't know why. She has been quiet for some reason."
"Ohh... Hahaha..." She stuttered. "By the way, I have something to say."
"Huh? What is it?"
I heard she took a deep breath. "Will you go to Hokkaido? I mean, I have a party and I invite you to come."
"What kind of party?"
"My cousin's birthday."
"Is Maki coming too?"
Shs stopped for a while there.
"Hello?" I said.
She finally spoke. "Y.. Yeah... I mean, Maki is not going to come."
"What? Why?"
"Because... She got plenty of work to do, she's busy."
So, maybe that's why she's being introvert lately?
"Really?" I'm trying to make sure.
"Yup, so... Could you come? Please??"
"I don't know... I'll talk to you later."
I hung up.
I can't come if Maki isn't coming too. I have to go to Maki's house, to see if she's alright with her so called busy work.
But wait, I have to take care of my siblings. Mom has gone to Walmart to buy needs and she told me that I should keep an eye on them.
Great. I'll phone her.
A few rings, and then she picked up.
"Hello? Maki? Are you alright?"
"Hi... Uhh.. Yeah, I... I'm alright. Just got a bunch of work to do. How are you doing?"
"I felt bored here without you." I said with honesty.
"Ohh... Right, I'm sorry." She apologizes. I didn't say anything at the moment, considering that she's only apologizing and not gonna do any actions. Actions speak louder than words. "By the way..." She breaks the silence.
"What?"
"Nozomi texted me that she invites me to come. I can't come, but then I told her that maybe you would come. She said that you rejected it. Why not accepting it?"
"I don't wanna go there without you. I'll feel lonely."
"But, there's Nozomi who will accompany you. You'll be alright."
Still, I shut my mouth.
"Please? Nozomi's siblings had a birthday and they really want you to come. They're a fan of you, you know? You could sing there for them if you like."
"Really? They knew me?"
She chuckles. "Of course, Nico." Oh my, her laugh is everything. I haven't hear them for a while.
"Then I'll come!" I said with excitement. "But, keep in touch with me there."
"No problem, I promise my work is going to be done when you get back here."
"Really? Yeaaay! When is that?"
"4 days to go." She said. "Nico, I know 4 days later your mother will have a birthday. You can celebrate her birthday there, it will be special, I knew it."
"You got it handled, huh?" I teased her. "Okay, Nico the number one idol in the world will come to that party."
"Thank you, Nico!" She happily thanked me.
It's time to tell mom!
