Chapter 1:Goodbye Best friends

Ashleys P.O.V.

"Bye Hunter." I waved at his car kicking up gravel as it pulled away. The cool lilac scented air wrapped around me as I smiled looking at my new school. I stared at the sign, University of Tenessee. It was Hunter's dream for us to become a big country duo, that was until I received my acceptance letter. Now I was hundreds of miles away from Hunter who was accepted to Louisiana University.

*Flashback*

Hunter ran towards me. His smile lighting up the sidewalk like a cars headlights. I was standing in our spot under the bridge in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana. A town so small it was like a dot on a map.

"Hey Hayes," I said we loved James bond and loved using last names first. "Hunter Hayes."

He laughed, how I loved that laugh.

"Manning, Ashley Manning."

I laughed so hard because his accent just hit the 'M's' a way I liked. "So you called me?"

"I know Ash. Did you get a letter?"

"Yep. Louisiana and Tenesee." I waved the unopened envelopes in front of me. "What about you, Hunt."

"Same." He smirked as he waved identical envelopes. "Ash, your choice which do you want to open first?"

"Um how 'bout Louisiana, But you read first. Okay?"

"Okay." We both tore them open together.

He looked down at the letter and furled his brow to match a serious tone. "Mr. Hayes we would love to inform you that we have seen your grades, academics, and extracurricular actives. We would be proud if you would come to our school. We have accepted you."

I hugged him. His aftershave tickling my nose. "Hunter Easton Hayes that is great."

He smiled brightly "Yea, I guess. What did they tell you."

I tried to match the way he opened his envelope. I ripped the top and unfolded the letter. It smelled a little musty, like a university library. I tried to keep my composure, but the message was short. "Ms.Manning we are sad to inform you that we have not accepted you due to-"

Hunter put his hand on mine and lowered the letter. "They are idiots' Ash. You are so smart. you'll get into a school I promise."

I sniffed and wiped the corner of my eye. I tried to sound strong. "I know but whatever lets open Nashville I guess."

Hunter said, "Lets do this one together." He drew his hand away and lifted his envelope. "On three."

"You first," I said.

"Mr. Hayes we are saddened to inform you that we have decided not to accept you."

"Oh Hunt, you got Louisiana."

"I know but music city Ash, that's the dream remember."

"Yea I know."

"I don't think you do. Remember to be a big country duo like Florida Georgia Line but whatever... just read yours."

"Ms.Manning we are pleased to inform you of your acceptance. Your grades and talent would be a great addition to our school."

"You got in great job." He came up hugging me and spinning me around.

"It's gonna be really weird not in school with you Hunter." I grabbed his hand smiling.

"Yeah I'll miss you a lot."

"You too."

"Do you have money on you?" I looked up smiling. He looked down at me standing up thinking what I was.

"Yea 40 bucks."

"20 each?"

"Seems right."

He handed me a 20 and we each smiled.

"So rules you must get as close to 20 as possible. You must only go to Starbucks. Winner gets the other coffee. Right hunter."

"Yea except not the same Starbucks And first to my house wins."

A/N *The whole game is each must go to different Starbucks and spend almost or 20 bucks on stuff only at Starbucks and then first back to the house will win the other coffee. *
