~AN~ WARNING WARNING, EXTREME DEPRESSION UP AHEAD ~AN OUT~
Hello my names Louise and I am also one of Kitty’s friends. I guess you could say that other than being known for loving horror, I’m kind of on the out sides of the group because I don’t really no kitty as well as the others. Laura is my main friend really because we went to primary school together, but even so, seeing Kitty dragged away from me with no way of helping her was one of the worst things that have ever happened to me! In the grand scheme of things, that’s pretty bad because I read books- very sad books- and reading sad books is like having your heart ripped out of your chest multiple times! And the fan fictions! There even more heart wrenching! Sorry…I’m going off on a tangent…
After Kitty had been deemed as ‘gone for a loooooong time’ we all left the graveyard through the now open gates and went back home on our very long trek. It felt wrong to leave Kitty behind but there was nothing to be done really, except for going away and getting on with daily life which we all knew was going to be drastically different without our group ‘leader’. The most difficult thing was explaining to our parents why we now couldn’t walk alone and all had to walk together to school; how we couldn’t deal with being in darkness; how no-one at any time was ever aloud to mention kitty.
After a while we kind of refused to believe she existed as it was easier for us. I think Isobel had it the hardest, losing her best friend. I know she had nightmares about the night, but then so did we all. I remember one night when we were all together at Erica’s house for a sleep-over, when we fell asleep and woke to Isobel’s screams. None of us like to talk about that either.
Lunch was always quite now, without the usual laughter from Kitty, but then again what was there to laugh about? We all ate in silence and then rush off to a lunch club or the library. Nothing was the same and I missed it; I really hate change, you see and this was the worst change of them all!
However, on the whole nothing out of the ordinary happened after the graveyard incident, which was the strangest thing. Normally in horror when something like a supernatural kidnapping happens, more are bound to follow. In my head I kept going over things that could have happened to her: 1. she could have been released on another planet and left there for all eternity (the others quickly shot this idea down…), 2. she could have been killed on the spot and left in another bush that we didn’t check (cause we did check a lot of bushes before we left), 3. She could have been turned into a ghost and left in the graveyard (highly unlikely because we would have found her body or at least seen ghost-her), 4. She could have been possessed and released in the middle of London to destroy stuff and cause havoc (well, there hadn’t been anything on the news!).
It was annoying me a bit that no one would help us. We’d reported it to the police and they just said that they were sorry but they couldn’t investigate anything that happened in Nightbrough village. I just thought they were being difficult, until we got a letter through the post, 8 months after kitty went missing:
Kitty is disappointed in you.
Kitty thought you’d save her.
We told Kitty you’d come get her
We told Kitty you cared
We told Kitty we were wrong.
It’s been 8 months.
Kitty is still waiting.
Kitty won’t stop waiting ‘til
Your
All
Dead.
Tread carefully little children…tread carefully…
