Chapter 2: I hate ballrooms!

Korra watched as her mother walked out of the room. 'I need to get ready! It's almost time.' thought Korra as she slipped her formal clothes off and put the blue dress on. Then she went back to her wardrobe and knelt down to the bottom drawer. Korra pulled out a pair of blue shoes, also encrusted with real blue sapphires. She got up and picked up her jewelry box and took out a pair of sapphire earrings. 'There! I'm ready to go to the ball!' she thought with sarcastic enthusiasm.

As Korra glided down the staircase into the ballroom, she looked around and noticed that no one even acknowledge that she was there. "Korra there you are!"called a happy voice. She recognized it as Prince Iroh of East Dragonfire ( a boardering kingdom). " Hello Iroh!" She said with a bow. " Hello, I'll be back after this dance and save me a dance, will you?" He asks with a wink. Korra nods her head. She watches him go through the crowd to a raven black haired girl with jade green eyes. Korra turns around walks to the table where parents are. "Hello Korra, find any lucky princes yet?" asks King Tonraq. " Nope father, not yet." She replied with a sigh. As she sits, Prince Iroh comes over and is about to say something when Prince Howl of West Dragonrage comes sauntering over. " Hallo Korra, would you care to join me in dancing?" he said with alcohol heavy on his breath. " Ummm I was going to join Prince Iroh in a dance." She says nervously. " Oh." He said disappointed. As Iroh took her hand, something rumbled in the foyer. Suddenly the big oak doors blew open with great force.
