She broke down and uttered-
“I did make a sincere effort but I failed.”
It was just minutes before the sun was about to shy away under the dark blanket of the night. She laid down in silence, with her eyes shut tight. She couldn’t open them for the fear of letting the tears lose, which had been in captivity for the last ten years. Her mind was blank, completely. Fingers numb. She could feel a thousand knives stabbing her to death and blood gushing through her veins.
Slowly, a drop of tear trickled down her cheeks, onto the pillow. She tried to pluck up her last remaining courage, but alas! She did not have the strength or intention to move ahead in life. It seemed as if, her backbone had been smashed into several pieces and had rendered her handicapped. Looking at the window, she tried to gather her lost confidence, but the slowly fading rays of the setting sun demoralized her.
Feeling a shiver run down her spine, she got up on the terrace wall. The sky had billions of stars gazing upon her with their eyes wide open. The moon seemed to be look bigger and brighter than ever. But only she could feel every morning of her life being turned into a cruel black night.
Standing on the edge, her eyes saw the whole city, bathed in moonlight. The warm breeze of the night was gently tickling against her ears, as if it wanted to whisper the last words from the Almighty Father to her. She closed her eyes and breathed heavily. Taking a step forward, a smile tugged at the corner of her lips at the thought of getting away from the pain, for forever. Looking at the night sky for one last time, she jumped of the wall.
Her lifeless body was soaked in blood, but her soul, was floating up, towards the light of eternal peace.
