-Chapter 7: Secrets Can't Stay Secret Forever


"You are late," Hiiro states as I step into the CR break room. Who asked him to ruin my day?

"Sorry, I had a long night out. I ended up falling asleep at my friend's place," I say, stretching a bit. "So, what is new? Did anything cool happen while I was gone?"

"I don't care what you did last night. All that matters is that you were late," he replies, looking at me with a cold look on his face.

What is his problem? Does he think I'm seeing someone now and that is why he's being a total jerk face right now?

If I could pick what I'm doing right now, I would be back on that rooftop next to Parad. He's a good cuddle buddy. Until he told me I needed to get to work so Hiiro doesn't get mad at me. Look what happened! He's mad! Fuming!

"Hiiro, why are you being so rude? I can't possibly be late to the CR."

"I don't care. You are late and that is final." He turns away from me and sits back down in his seat.

"Hiiro, do you want me to sing a song to make you happier?" Poppy asks, poking her cheeks. Aw, she's super adorable right now!

"Work is important, Kara. Poppy, don't sing. It'll kill me to hear you sing. You are an awful singer in my opinion and you will just distract me from doing my job. This is a serious thing here." Hiiro is being so kind today. I can feel the kindness come off his body.

I scoff. "Yeah, whatever. I won't be late again."

"I'll have to have some cake later," Hiiro says, thinking of the only thing he loves more than me. If he could marry cake, he would. That and many other sweets.

Beep!

"Oh, it is from Genm Corp!" Poppy exclaims. "Do you want me to answer it?" Do we have to answer it? Do we even have a choice in the matter?

"Of course. We have to," Hiiro answers. "Hurry up and answer it. It could be important."

She steps over to something and answers the call. Dan appears on a screen and I look away, not staring at his stupid face. He's obviously a crappy human being hiding under all the wealth and success.

"Why are you calling us?" Hiiro asks Dan.

I step backwards, heading to the exit. "I'm going to go and work now!"

"No, you have to stay since you were late to work," Hiiro tells me. "Now sit down and deal with it."

I nod and I rush over to the table and sit my butt down. Great. I'm being held here against my will. Thanks, Hiiro! I just wanted to be stuck here.

"Someone has stolen four gashats from Genm Corp. We have pictures of the person who did it," Dan says, pressing something and some pictures pop up on the screen. That guy who stole it seems like a man who should get a new job.

"Who cares? That is your fault," I state, looking away from the screen. "Get better security, cheapo." He should honestly do that.

"What did you just say?" Hiiro asks me in a serious tone of voice and Dan chuckles. "I apologize for her behavior. She hasn't acted like this before around me and I assume it is because she's in a bad mood."

"What did I do wrong? I'm just saying the truth!" I look at Hiiro harshly. "If he would get better security, maybe he stuff wouldn't get taken away from him! Besides, who cares about his problems? We have our own to deal with so let him deal with this." He deserves to have his crap stolen from his company if he can't provide the proper care for it. He has no excuse for it.
