-Chapter 15: The Confrontation

"Kara, can I speak to you alone?" Dan asks me, staring me straight in the eyes.

What does he want from me? Is he going to be rude to me about being in a viral video? Though that was freaking hilarious and he should be thanking me.

"I'm working right now," I answer, looking at Miyuki. "Can't you see that with your own two eyes?"

"I'll cover you. Just go on break," Miyuki tells me, smiling. Does she really trust me to be around this dirt bag alone? I mean, he took a sip of my delicious hot chocolate!

"It'll only be a moment. We're going to talk about something important that is related to the CR. I haven't said anything to the others yet but I will get to them." Dan is wanting me alone which means he is going to yell at me or make me get him some hot chocolate so he can drink it. I'm onto him.

"No, Hiiro will get mad if I randomly go on break and if that break happens to have you involved." Hiiro gets extremely upset when I'm with Dan. He acts like I'm going to be hooking up with the obnoxious, rich douchebag who runs a gaming company.

"Please, Kara? It really is important." Is he begging me right now? I need to hear this again.

"What did you say? I couldn't hear you over the sound of my thoughts," I tell him, grinning as I look at him.

"Will you please go on break so we can talk? It is very important and yes, I'm begging you to go on break so we can talk."

"Alright, I'll go on break but only because you're begging me to. Miyuki, can you handle everything for me? I'm going to go with him immediately. If Hiiro shows up, just tell him I'm handling my girl problems. He won't ask anything else, okay? When I was with him, he hated hearing about my womanly woes."

Miyuki giggles. "Oh, I will do that just to see him squirm."

"He'll probably get a weird look on his face." Or he'll stay stone faced.

I exit the desk and step over to Dan. He smiles at me and he turns away, heading towards the stairs. Is he going to make me walk? I want to use the elevator!

"Why do we have to walk? I have been on my feet all day so far!" I mutter out, looking down at my poor feet. Gosh, they ache!

"It is busy today and everyone has been using the elevators."

I move to the side of him as we pass a few doctors walking in a squad. I stare at the side of Dan's face, looking over every detail, and smile a little. He doesn't seem mad at me right now, but what do I know? For all I know, he could be secretly plotting to get me alone to show his true colors.

We turn and head down the stairs, walking side by side. I wonder what he is up to today with this little thing. If he wanted to talk, he could have waited to see me in the CR. This must be something really important if he wants to talk to me right now. It couldn't wait, so it has to be done now.

"Why do you want to talk to me?" I ask, breaking the silence.

"Do you wish for people to overhear what we're going to talk about? They will wonder what we are talking about and bother the director about it," he replies, looking at me a bit coldly. Okay, he didn't like that question. Then again, it was a stupid one so I can't blame him.

"Sorry, I didn't think about that," I tell him, being honest. I didn't think about it and I should have. My bad.

"You usually don't think."

I shake my head, sighing a bit. "Is it that obvious?"

"I find it amazing that you were able to become a nurse."
