Taylor's pov
I sat down on the bench outside on the courtyard, waiting for Elya. It was lunch time and for some reason she wanted to sit outside. As I opened my Lays Chips, I could see Kacine sitting with a couple of her friends. We locked eyes for a second. I gave her smile. She looked away from me, turning her attention to someone else that was coming her way. I sighed. Kacine's been ignoring me all day long and I have know idea why. "Did I do something wrong?" I asked myself, eating a chip.
"Did what wrong?" Elya said, coming from behind me.
I took a deep breath. "Kacine's been ignoring me all day. I don't understand why." I told her.
She took out her peanut butter sandwich and started eating it. "Well, there could be two reasons why." She said, with a mouth full.
I raised an eyebrow. "And that would be?" I asked, curiously.
She swallowed her sandwich and opened her bottle of water. "For one, she probably lost interest in you. Which is probably not true, being that you gave her the best date ever the other night. Or She's halfway out and in the closet, at the same time." She explained, taking a sip of water. "Plus, sense you and I are all the way out, we do tend to get teased and somewhat physically hurt. Just for being gay. So, I mean I can understand where she's coming from." Elya reasoned.
I sat there taking everything into consideration. Yeah, that might just be it. She's just not fully out, yet. I guess I can understand that. I use to be the same way. "Okay, I can deal with that. I'll just wait for her to feel a little more comfortable. Of course it's going to be hard, but I can try and deal." I said agreeing to her statement.
She took another bite and swallowed. "Yeah, trust me. I know exactly what you're going through. My girl..." She trailed off.
I raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "Your girl...what?" I asked cautiously.
"My girl, who is a friend. My friend girl?" She asked more to herself, then to me.
"Nooooo. Not your friend girl. What were you going to say." I demanded, more then a question.
Elya sighed in defeat. "Fine. My girlfriend says she's not ready, yet. So, we only date after we leave school grounds." She explained.
My eyes widen. "You have a girlfriend and didn't even tell me?!" I yelled at her.
"Oy, calm down. Don't be so loud." She said whispering and looking around. "And I'm sorry, but she told me strictly not to tell you. Or anyone else. She's just waiting to come out on her own. So, if someone accuses her of being gay, she'll just get mad at me and leave. So, please don't say anything to anyone. Even Kacine and Samantha. They can't know, I really love this girl." Elya said in a whisper, with pleading eyes.
Whoa, did Elya just say she loves that girl? She's never said that before. As far as I know, Elya was a straight up player. I guess she found someone who could actually tie her down. I took a deep breath. "Okay, I promise I won't say anything." I promised her.
She let out a breath of relief. "Thanks, Taylor. Your a good friend." She said, taking another sip of her water.
"So, just out of curiosity. Who is she?" I asked, hopeful for an answer.
She put her cap back on her water bottle, and faced me. She sat there looking at me, debating whether or not to tell me. "Hey, Elya. Have you seen Trevor? He owes me twenty bucks, but he's being a coward for not paying for the bet he just lost." Elya and I looked up at the girl in front of us. Damn, she's hot, I thought.
I looked at Elya. Elya then had a smile brought onto her. "Dylan!" She practically yelled.
The girl, Dylan, raised an eyebrow. "Unfortunately, that is my name. Now answer my damn question." She said annoyed.
"Oh...um...no I haven't seen him. Sorry." She said.
"I swear when I find that thing, I'm gonna kill it." She said, walking off angry.
Elya snickered. "I love it when she calls Trevor 'it' or 'thing', it's hilarious." She said with a smile, watching her walk across the courtyard.
I cleared my throat, to gain back her attention. She looked at me. "Who is she? I've never seen her here before." I stated.
She took a deep breath. "That would be my girlfriend, Dylan." She finally said.
My eyes widen. Know wonder why Elya's finally tied down to someone. She's hot as hell, I thought. "Wow. I can see how she tied you down." I said, surprised. "When did she start coming here?" I asked.
"Well, if you weren't so caught up in Kacine, you would've known she arrived here last week." She told me.
"Wait, so she came here last week?" I asked. Elya nodded. "Oh, but how are you guys dating already?" I asked confused.
"She lives in my neighborhood. She transferred from Wilard High to come here to Bolten High. Only because I talked her into it. She then talked to her best friend, Trevor, into coming here, too." She explained.
"Oh. Well, that makes sense." I said, finally understanding. "How long have you two been together?" I asked.
"Four months." She informed me.
"Oh, wow. That's a big accomplishment. Well, for you." I stated truthfully. She hit me in my arm playfully. "What?! It's true!" I said laughing. Elya also laughed. "What'd you say her name was, again?"
"Dylan. Dylan Jayhill." She said, using her full name. The bell then ringed, signalling that lunch was over. I packed up my stuff and threw away my trash. Elya did the same. "Um...Taylor." Elya said. I looked at her. By the way she was looking, it seemed liked she just saw a ghost.
I let out a small chuckle. "Yeah?" I said.
"Not to make your day go bad, but..." She trailed off and pointed behind me.
I connected my eyebrows in confusion. I slowly turned around. When I figured out what she was pointing at, my eyes widen in shock. Kacine was kissing Caleb! On the lips! I then instantly knew, my heart stopped beating.
