Chapter 13, unlucky for some :3

(Martyn's POV)

He put Infinity down on the ground, safely away from the battle, before spawning in some weapons. I fired the arrow, but Ridge easily dodged and came right back at me with a sword. He slashed my face, making a long but shallow cut, and I retaliated by kneeing him in the stomach then lifting my bow and pushing him back before I swapped out my bow for my dagger and sword, holding them in front of me in a cross. The demigod seemed to be continually glancing to the door, probably thinking about his chances of escaping, so I ran between him and the entrance, crouching down and ready to spring. My face had healed, and he noticed this with a growl, though he still looked confused.

"How did you heal that? I didn't see you drink anything during battle. Must be a harder opponent than I thought..." He muttered, not meaning for me to hear. "And those weapons, so unusual, unlike anything I've seen before. I'll have to keep my guard up."

"Damn right you will." I replied, glaring at him as he stared at me in shock.

"Y-you heard me?" He asked timidly, and I wondered why he was suddenly so afraid.

"No, it was just a lucky guess. A wild stab in the dark." I rolled my eyes, forgetting for a second that we were in battle. "By the way, they aren't anything to do with this. Leave them out of it, it's not their fight."

Ridge shook his head with a frown, pulling out his gun and pointing it at me offensively. "Yeah, sure. But I can't guarantee that I won't kill them after you."

I hissed, scraping my weapons together before putting the dagger back in my belt and settling for the light but deadly sword. "You won't harm them! Especially not Toby- he's only a kid! He has his whole life ahead of him, you can't take that away."

"My, my, it seems I've found your soft spot. Then maybe I'll kill him first, see how you react when he becomes no more than dust, then nothing at all. He'll be gone forever, Martyn, and it'll be your fault for bringing him here and involving him in this battle." He taunted, changing his target to Toby, who stared back at him with wide brown eyes.

"You won't harm him." Strippin' said forcefully, using his armoured body as a shield for the younger boy.

The brunette seemed thoughtful for a second, examining the ground, before looking back up and calmly walking forwards, closer to the demigod. When the Rail Bro tried to pull him back, he just shrugged him off and continued. Ridge's hand started to shake, and his knuckles went white, but he still held up the gun, and yet Toby seemed unafraid.

"Go ahead. Shoot me. I dare you." He said, spreading his arms and keeping eye contact with the demigod.

"Toby..." I warned him, beginning to go towards him, but Ridge focused back on me with the gun, making me stop.

"Go ahead, Ridgedog. I'm sure you'll feel good about yourself for killing a kid." Toby taunted, once again at gunpoint, and still not scared.

"Look Martyn, be wants to die. He can't like being with you."

"No!" The brunette exclaimed angrily, stepping forwards again, about an arms length away from the demigod. "I love Martyn like a brother. He cared for me when I was sick, watched out for me and tried his best to keep me safe. Every second at Inthelittlecorp was amazing, and even though he kept the secret that he was an Elf for my whole life, it doesn't matter, because he did it to keep me safe."

"Hm, that sounds like a before-death speech. I guess that means-" Before I could react, he shot a bullet, and Toby slid backwards a little from the impact, blood beginning to stain around his chest. "-he should die now."
