Entering the large room I scan it for anyone I might possibly recognise from one of the classes I had yesterday, I find myself unlucky and sit down in the closest desk to the front. No one's sitting in the front row and whilst it's not a great method for making friends - I'm not up for socialising. Pulling out a book and flipping to the location of my bookmark I try to immerse myself into the story before the class starts, so I'm relaxed and focused - it's just a thing do.

Unfortunately, I couldn't do that. I feel someone sit down next to me, but I can't bothered to look up and acknowledge them right now. However, they could've easily sat further along the row, why are they here? Glancing to the side of a spilt second, I recognise the person a male. They pull out their stuff and line it up nicely on the corner of the desk, "What are reading, Dayoung?" The question itself doesn't surprise me, I like it when people ask me what I'm reading - gives me a little more faith in humanity. It's more so the fact that this person knows my name and the fact that I recognise their voice already, without even having to look up. I show him the book cover and continue reading

"Oh, that one, I've read the other book in the series but I haven't seen that yet. Must be new, I'll need to go and get myself a copy of that one." My heart skips a beat when it remembers just how much I like guys who read avidly, giving myself a mental note to calm down - this is not the boy you're supposed to fall in love with, Dayoung, stay calm - I instead arch my eyebrows

"Impressive, I didn't picture you as the type to read, Donghyun." Donghyun laughs, it's a beautiful sound but I push that thought aside.

"Of course I am," He says "but I'm not quite like you. I leave reading for rainy days with a cup of hot coffee." Of course he does, of course he's the exact depiction of my ideal type. Of course. I sigh,

"Why are you sitting here?" I ask, I still haven't looked up from my book this entire time

"I don't know anyone else in this class other than you, I'm sure you don't mind,"

"I do mind." I mumble, putting my book away.

"That's unfortunate. You know, I'm really not that bad at all." He smiles at me "I just never make great first impressions, and you, hold some tough grudges considering what I did to you isn't even that bad for me."

"What do you mean 'not bad for you'?" Donghyun laughs, louder than last time, earning some looks from those nearby.

"Youngmin, my friend who's book you're borrowing - he'll need that back later today by the way but you can just give it to him in class, I broke his arm when we first met and now he's my best friend so really what I did to you isn't that bad." I hold in the urge to giggle

"You broke his arm?"

"Yeah, he hated me for months, all I wanted to do was be his friend but instead I distracted him when I tried to talk to him and he fell down the stairs." Donghyun explains

"You're not very lucky then, how unfortunate." I say, any normal person would've forgiven him by now but Donghyun's right; I do hold grudges and I do take them very seriously. My phone buzzes in my pocket and I take it out to look at the new message, my mother messaged me asking to go shopping after school; I message her back saying I'll do it as long as it isn't raining too much. I sigh loudly, I really need to get my drivers licence.

"What's wrong?" Donghyun inquires
"Nothing, don't worry about it." Donghyun shrugs,

"Come on, Dayoung, please." Donghyun pleads, I raise my eyebrows at the look he's giving me and shake my head

"Why would I want to eat lunch with you?"

"Why not? Besides, it's not like you're just sitting with me. Youngmin will be there, and even if you don't know him I can tell you'll get along with him." He smiles, "You can't just sit by yourself all year, Dayoung, you've got three or four years here - make friends!" I roll my eyes "I know you could become friends with other people, but just by looking at you you don't seem like the type to try to make friends by yourself." I pick up my bag and swing it into my back.

"Okay, fine then, I'll sit with you because that's the only thing that will make you shut up." Donghyun stands up, or rather he jumps up.

"That's great! Come on, follow me, I'll take you to where we normally sit." I follow closely behind Donghyun as he practically skips through the hallway. Is he really that happy that I'm sitting with him? I follow him to almost the other side of the campus and by the time we get there I'm exhausted. I pause out the front of a small cafe

"Did you really have to make me walk all the way here?" I pant, trying to regain my breath

"Yeah, we sit here most of the time because it's close to Youngmin's lecture hall and he's been sitting here for years. He's not really an advocate for change so bring up the distance it took you get here, and you might offend him." I nod,  understanding what he means; I don't really like change either. Donghyun opens the door and warm air hits my face, "After you," he steps out of my way so I can enter.

He looks around for any sign of his friends, "Over here." He takes me over to a table where another male is sat with his books and study bites all across the table "Do you have an exam coming up or something, Youngmin?" He gets inaudible reply "I'll take that as a yes, are the others in their classes still?" Youngmin nods "Oh, okay then, I've brought somebody new to sit with us." Youngmin looks up and gives me a quick wave before looking back down at his computer.

"Is she the girl that you drenched in water yesterday?" Donghyun laughs "Your name's Dayoung, right? I'm Youngmin, nice to meet you." He glances up at me for a response

"Oh, yes, I'm Dayoung. It's nice to meet you too, Youngmin." I give him a forced smile and Donghyun gestures for me to sit down

"Do you guys want me to order you anything? I'm just getting a coffee and a sandwich, do you want me to get you guys that as well?" Donghyun offers, most likely trying to keep the conversation going

"What's in the sandwich?" Youngmin asks

"What I normally get, what else? The egg thing with that salad stuff." Youngmin and I both roll our eyes at him

"That's a great explanation considering it's something you normally get." I say sarcastically "But sure, if you're offering, I guess you can get me one too."

"Shut up. Youngmin?" Youngmin nods and Donghyun skips off to the counter.

"I'm sorry to interrupt you, Youngmin, but did Donghyun really break your arm when you first met?" I say in a low voice. Youngmin laughs and nods

"Yeah, he did. I hated his guts for it, but I can assure you he really isn't that bad. It's just his first impression." I smile

"I know, I just can't help but hold a grudge in him - it's by nature." Youngmin smirks

"Can I make a bet with you?" I raise my eyebrows,

"What?"

"You owe me something, I don't really care what - and the same applies to you, I'll owe you something for it. Anyways, I bet that by the end of the year, if you aren't in love with him; you owe me something." I snort, a little louder than what I intended

"Are you kidding me? You don't know how bad my grudges are." Rather than him being thrown off, he just looks more determined

"You're right, I don't know, but I do know Donghyun." He gives me a really sharp look, I don't really have a choice other than to prove him wrong,

"Fine, it's a deal." We both shake hands whilst grinning at each other, at this moment Donghyun comes back with our food

"What did I miss?" He inquires

"Nothing much," Youngmin begins "just the beginning of a wonderful friendship."
