When my daddy said to give them a real Texas welcome I couldn't stop grinning. so you could imagine my excitement when we got all the horses in and we saw 4 sports cars comin' up the drive way.
"Girls is that the new guests comin' up the drive... what on earth are you wearin'? you look like you've been rollin' round in the mud! now go change into something more presentable!"
"Yes it is... why change? this is how we look everyday..."
"My point exactly... now go change."
"Gee thanks... come on girls you can borrow my stuff."
And with that we went inside and up the stairs to my room in the loft. it was pretty hot today so I settled on a pair of dark washed shorts with a red and black plaid button up shirt tucked in with my black belt with silver rhinestones. I just left my blonde hair down with my black cowboy hat and black cowboy boots. Rain had her blonde hair pulled into a low bun with light blue jean shorts and a navy blue v neck with a straw cowboy hat and light brown boots. Mallory being herself did a fishtail braid with her blonde hair with her white hat and dark brown boots with white shorts and a light pink tank top, gosh that girl doesn't care about getting her, i mean my good white clothing all dirty. and lastly sutton was wearing a green camo tank top and some denim shorts, wearing some gator skin boots and a brown hat with her curly hair in a low pony tail. all in all we looked pretty good for just 10 minutes earlier taking in horses or as my mother called it rollin' in the dirt. With that in mind we went back down the stairs and out side to meet the new guests. as we walked out they were just getting out of their cars and as my dad started to approach them I just went back to grinning knowing what was to come.
"How ya'll doin' on this fine day you must be the Slades the Hawkings the Flemings and the woods'." my dad said with a big smile on his face.
"Yes yes we are, I'm Chris Slade this is my wife Tammy and our son Xavier."
As I looked on at the Slade family I instantly thought, city folks.
"This is Jack and Taylor Hawking and their son Jay, along with Jaxon and Rynn Fleming and their son Ky and daughter Angela, and lastly Hudson and Hellen Woods and their children Hunter and Heather."
"Pleased to meet you, my name is Crystal Ridge, this is my husband Carlton, and our daughter Lorli. these are her friends and our employees, sutton, rain, and Mallory." my mom said in her usual bubbly tone as she made an appearance.
"Well now that introductions are out of the way, girls can you please show our guests to their cabin?"
"Yes daddy, right this way, I will take the Slades to the mountain cabin, Sutton you take the Hawkings to the plateau cabin, Rain you take the Flemings to the canyon cabin, and Mallory you take the the Woods family to the Cliff cabin. now I see you rented out one more cabin... is there another family that is comin' to meet y'all?"
"Oh that's right we rented out another cabin for the boys seeing as it's their senior trip, that's not a problem is it?"
"No ma'am once we get you to your cabins your sons can follow us to theirs. They will be staying in forest cabin."
"Thank you dear!"
"Your welcome, now let's go to ya,ll's cabins."
