The cabin seemed bigger on the inside, there were three beds on either wall with a name tag on the foot of each. He quickly recognized his duffle and went to the last bed on the right side of the cabin. Right at the foot like he figured was the name Stilinski.

“Well this is it! The girls dorm is on the other side of the cabin through that door.” He waited as he watched Stiles look around and take it all in. “I’ll get you some grub.” Boyd turned opening the door to leave.

“Thanks.” Boyd grinned at the gesture and walked out of the cabin.

It had been a few hours since Stiles had arrived at his new home and with a full belly and the urge to get high, he laid on his bed, staring up at the ceiling. He realized if you looked at it long enough and squinted just right it looked as if it was almost breathing. That’s when he decided he needed out of this place before he went insane. He couldn’t stand the silence and he wasn’t about to share his feelings and start singing around a campfire any time soon. Stiles was interrupted from his thoughts by the squeaky hinges of the door into the cabin, a second later the room filled up with voices. It was random chatter that didn’t spark an interest in Stiles.

“who’s the new kid?” Stiles couldn’t help but sit up and look at his new companions that had begun staring at him as if he was a mannequin on display. The owner of the question was a boy with curly hair and big doe eyes. Next to him was another guy with dark hair who seemed much more relaxed than his company.

“Ignore Isaac, he’s new to the whole human interaction thing.” The boy now named Isaac seemed a little hurt by the statement but quickly brushed it off walking to his bed and collapsing. “I’m Scott, looks like we're bunk buddies.” He sat down on the bed that was next to Stiles and held out his hand. Stiles was cautious at first but accepted it.

“Stiles” Scott smiled and nodded his head.

“Interesting name. It’s cool.”

“Thanks.” Stiles liked Scott, he could already tell. Scott had a warm presence and anyone felt safe when they were around him.

The door opened again and an older boy looked into the room “Boyd wants us to get dinner early. We have to get our rest for tomorrow.” With that, the boy with thick eyebrows and stone cold face walked back out not saying another word.

“Who was that?” Stiles asked shifting on the bed ready to eat again. Scott looked up from his comic book and closed it sitting back up shoving the comic under his pillow.

“That was Derek. Now, that is one dude that needs to work on his people skills.”

“No kidding. Just stay out of his way, as long as he’s left alone, he continues to walk around like the world has ended.” Isaac got up from his bed and slipped his sneakers back on.

“What Isaac is trying to say is, it’s best to stay out of his way. He has a short fuse, and is horrible at taking jokes. I don’t think I’ve ever seen him smile.”

“Ever!” Isaac had his hand on the door ready to leave.

“You can’t wait for us?” Scott stood and gestured for Stiles to do the same.

Isaac was now on the small porch holding the door open “I’m starving!”

“You're always starving!” The boys followed Isaac out the door and Stiles felt himself smiling for the first time in a long time. It felt human, it felt like a part of himself he missed and he wanted that feeling to stay but it soon slipped away.

The kitchen was in the main house and the dining area happened to be the picnic tables that sat around the “Campus”. Stiles sat with his food alone at a table furthest away from the other students. There were at least 40 teenagers in this place and an endless supply of easy distractions that could help him escape.

“You’re that new guy Stiles right? Mind if I take a seat?” A pretty girl with red hair sat down across the table from him. “So what did they bring you in for?” She took a bite of the small salad on her plate and then grabbed the apple taking a large bite.

“Not much, just stealing my dads car, robbing a bank and murdering the neighbors cat.” Stiles focused on the table, he was irritated.

“Why the cat?” Was she serious? Stiles couldn’t help but come back with his usual wit.

“Fear of cats, their beady little eyes freak me out.”

“Ailurophobia”

“What?”

“It’s the fear of cats, Ailurophobia.”

“Do you not know what sarcasm is?” Stiles raised his eyebrow at the strange but attractive girl.

“Yes, it’s sharp, bitter retorts from people who have built up walls no one can break through.”

Stiles wanted to ignore what she was saying, she didn’t know anything about him. “I personally do it because it’s sort of my thing, I think people find it charming.” She wanted to say something back but she was finally stumped and a little lost in his sad brown eyes.

“Lydia, already hassling the new guy?” A girl with dark brown hair sat down next to the red headed girl named Lydia and began eating.

“So, you're in Horizon?” Stiles nodded his head and poked at his empty tray. “That’s our group. You’ll like it, it’s a lot better than the other groups. Boyd is pretty cool, he use to be one of us.” The words one of us stuck out to Stiles, what were they?

“Yeah, that’s all great. Do you know if there’s anything here? Like, can anyone get high around this place?”

“Afraid not, if you get caught with anything you’re automatically kicked from the program and for some people this is the only place they have.” Stiles scanned the place, he had to get out of there. He’d leave tonight, it couldn’t be that hard.

“Allison, winning over the new guy already?” Scott took a seat along with Isaac.

“With my witty charms as usual.” Allison smiled and Scott leaned in giving the dark haired girl a kiss. Isaac continued to stuff his face.

“Who's ready for the big hike in the morning?” Scott said as he draped his arm around Allison and started eating with his other hand. They all exchanged moans.

“I’m personally okay with it. It just means no Homework, I hate homework.” Isaac said in between mouthfuls.

“It’s whatever, at least I get to spend time with Scott.” Allison offered with a coy smile, nestling her head onto his shoulder. The longer he sat there the more Stiles wanted to punch something. Isaac rolled his eyes and picked up his empty tray. Stiles did the same and decided to follow the doe eyed boy.

“Are you ready for group therapy?” Stiles was thrown by the question as he and Stiles dumped off their trays and headed back to the cabins. The sun was sinking below the tree line and the place seemed to be dying down.

“Therapy in a group?” Stiles questioned as they made their way to the cabin.

“They do it at least once a month, or if a member of the group calls a meeting.” They were the first ones inside and both laid down on their beds. Stiles stopped listening after a while and stared up at the ceiling, he was leaving tonight.
