Raindrops pelted down mercilessly, giving this dry area some signs of liveliness. The sound of rain was getting louder and harder; it had turned from a drizzle to a rainpour.

He closed his eyes, allowing the raindrops to glide down his face and his hair to the floor, allowing the raindrops to drench whatever he had.

His knees gave out, and he knelt in front of the thing that stood still.

"Eomma..." his whispers washed away by rain, but he did not care.

An umbrella was raised over his head, stopping the rain from hitting on his pale body.

"Go away..." he muttered to whoever that was there. When sensing no motion or intentions to move, he hollered, "go away! Just let me be alone! I don't need anything! Stop using me, just stop!"

At the last word, his tears finally came out, and he buried his face into his hands, his shoulders shaking at every sob.

"Why won't you go away..." he whispered weakly.

Yes, he was weak. He admitted it. That was the reason why he chose to believe in his girlfriend, or I should say, ex-girlfriend. He was so weak, he did not trust his mother, his dear eomma that raised him singlehanded. He did not trust her, and let her life drown in danger. He was so weak. He was so stupid! He hated this feeling of helpless and hopeless, but he could not do anything. He had lost everything.

The umbrella did not twitch, not even by an inch. It was still, all along, being there for him.

"Sorry that you had to see me in that state," he mumbled.

She let out a chuckle, "it's okay. Everyone has their little breakdown moment in life, too, you know? You are not alone."

Somehow, it made him relieve to hear that sentence. He was not alone.

Was he?

He smiled and his eyes showed pain, "well... You know what? I actually am."

She blinked and stayed still for a second, not expecting that answer. However, she still gave him an eye smile. Then sipping on the cup of hot coffee, her eyes told him to continue, so he did.

"No matter how hard I tried to tell myself that someone out there was suffering the same thing as me and we both were to get out of it pretty soon, I knew it was a lie," he smiled. A bitter smile. He took a sip of the hot latte in his hands, too. "I am alone. I know that well, so why lie to yourself?"
