    Chara has never experienced anything like love. They would never be attached to someone if no one showed them what it's like to love or to be loved before. That's why they hated humanity. They have  experienced only acts of violence towards them, so how can they know 'love'?
Until they met Frisk.
Chara wasn't looking forward to talk to them at first. It was Frisk who walked towards them and made the first contact. By time, Chara was used to Frisk's company. It really was a new experience to them. But Chara couldn't understand this. They couldn't understand why Frisk was being so nice to them. Their heart was aching. A feeling, that was burning inside their chest. Frisk helped them understand what love truly was.
Frisk was an angel.
And Chara was nothing like Frisk.

It was summer time. They missed Frisk alot, since Frisk lives far away and they only see them in and after school.  The July sun reminded Chara of their loved one, as one sunny day like this, Frisk and Chara spent time together. They almost confessed to Frisk. They both had picnic, cuddling and having a meal. It drove Chara crazy. They just wanted to kiss them, hold their hands and be theirs forever. They couldn't take it anymore. They wanted to tell Frisk about their feelings. Just thinking about this makes Chara blush madly, they wish they could have more moments like that.
And it has already been 7 years since they knew each other, hasn't it? How long are they going to hold on with the confession?
It was too hard.
Chara didn't want to ruin their friendship at this moment. They were too happy.
And they thought about confessing to Frisk too many times to count. This can't wait forever. As the new school year starts, they're going to tell them. Chara is going to finally tell them.

As it was the new school year, they were waiting for Frisk to come, feeling a mix of excitement, anxiety and happiness. It was finally that day!
Biting their lower lip, they saw them walking through, beautiful as always. Chara was about to catch Frisk's hand, but as they saw Frisk hugging and  kissing some other person, they felt their heart break into a million pieces.

That's how Chara knew it was their first and last love.
They could never trust anyone once again.
