"Hey"
"Hi, good mornin" I respond as I close the door behind me. "Sorry to keep you waiting"
"No problem." Ethan replies. "Good mornin. I got us coffee." he holds one out for me while holding onto the other.
"Oh my god, thank you" I grin from excitement as I get closer to him and take the coffee.
"Are you happy to see me or the coffee?" he pouts.
"Both," I grin. "Let's go"
We begin our walk to school as we sip on our coffee.
"We should go out sometime," he blurts out, making me turn my head towards him in shock. Is he asking me out on a date!? "What do you mean?" I respond.
"I mean, why not?" he answers. "We could get something. A dessert maybe"
"Oh" I shyly mutter.
"You don't want to?" he inquires.
"I do!" I blurt out before continuing in a softer tone "I mean.. I do."
He chuckles. "Alright then, meet me at the entrance like yesterday after school. I know this great place."
"Ok," I timidly respond as I avert my eyes towards my coffee.
With a big grin, he nods in approval. We continue our walk, finishing our coffee, until we reach the school. Throwing out our empty cups into the trashcan besides the entrance, we make our way in and head our separate ways.
As the day goes by, the time of our meeting finally arrives.
"Alright, You ready?" Joel walks up to me with a big smile. He adjusts his tie over his regular clothes making me giggle. "Something funny?" he replies to my giggles.
"No," I continue giggling.
"Gotta keep it a bit fancy" he smirks.
"Ok ok you've impressed me. you can take it off now," I respond with a giggle.
"Ok good, can't be seen looking like this in public. Next time I'll dress better"
I nod and proceed to ask "So where is this place?"
Without responding, he tenderly grabs my hand and takes the lead. We walk until we arrive to this cute cafe. Arriving, we proceed to take a seat at a table next to the window. I look around, observing the cute decor. "This is a nice place," I utter.
"Yeah, I love their brownies," he replies in excitement.
We receive our menus and begin to look through it. There are many delicious desserts, many that I've never seen. Checking the prices of each, I nervously say, "I don't think I can afford any of this."
"Don't worry. It's on me. I was the one who suggested this place," he softly responds.
"Are you sure?" I reply.
"Yeah, just pick anything you'd like."
"Oh ok," I continue looking at the menu until the waitress arrives and takes our order. I chose a Chocolate Molten Lava Cake with strawberries and icecream on the side while he chose a Choco Flan slice.
While we continue waiting, I question, "So what made you ask me out?"
"I wanted to see you smile. Every time I saw you, you'd be in a bad mood so I thought something delicious would make you smile," he pauses before adding "and you're cute." Immediately looking away as his cheeks slowly turned faintly pink.
"Oh," I mutter as I feel my cheeks also turning pink. We continue waiting until our orders arrive. I take a quick whiff at my lava cake before grabbing the spoon on the side and have a bite.
."Oh shit, Fuck me," I mutter.
He chuckles, "I know, right?"
I happily nod as I become absorbed with bliss. We continue eating our desserts. "Here, taste this." he offers a bite. I take it and offer a piece of mine, he takes it as well. After finishing our desserts, we sit in appreciation. "Thank you," I blurt out.
"No problem," he replies as he calls up the waitress to pay. Once paid, we get up and head out. "I'll walk you home," he affirms.
"Ok," I respond.
We begin walking home. "Wanna come again sometime soon?" he inquires
"Yes please, that cake was soo good! I might get what you ordered next time." I respond.
"Definitely," he grins.
Carrying on with our walk, we reach my house. Saying our byes once again, I make my way into the house. I stop to see mom standing near the entrance with her hand placed on her hip. With a glare she utters loudly and firmly, "Who's he?"
