The soft light green grass of the medow shimmered in the light, it was a bright spring day. Dark lifted his nose and smelled the calming smell of the meadow's flowers, the smell put his body at ease. He padded over to his friend, Dusk, who was silently gazing off into the sunlight. "Dusk?" He asked, his tail twitching as he awaited her responce. Dusk looked over at him. "Dark! I've been waiting for you. Where have you been? You told me you'd help me learn how to fly today...did you forget?" She frowned, standing up. "Perhaps I was a little late" His ears titled down as he tried to give his most serious look. "Yep! Thats what we're doing! I'm going to teach you how to fly!" He said as he spread his dark purple wings, trying to impress her. Dusk smirked at his attempt. "You're quite late. It's been hours, I was about to head home.""I guess I should work on my timing..." He mummbled. He shifted his vision to completly focus on her, "Perhaps we should go to the highpeak? Its not as high as people say, and its quite a great place to learn how to fly." He suggested. "Are you sure?..." Dusk questioned him, a bit of worry in her eyes."You're brave" He mewed, as he titled his vision to the side, slightly blushing. "And strong, I'm sure you'll be okay.." He added. "If that's the case, then let's go!" She ran off.Dark ran after her, there was much adventure to await, his paws trotted along the grass, making ruffling noises, just beside him, Dusk, she almost ran quicker than he did.Once he caught up, Dusk let him lead the rest of the way. "Go on Dark, where is it?".His tail swayed as he stuck his nose up, trying to detect any smells that he recognized, to see if smells could lead the way, but all there was in the small meadow was the sweet breeze of spring, he sighed. "I'll just have to go with my wit" he mumbled. Dusk let out a slight grunt, gazed around he hoping to see it, and his eyes widened as he saw the peak, it was covered in flowers and sweet smells. It was quite far in the distance, but he could almost make out a large waterfall next to the mountain, that was it! His tail flicked for a signal for Dusk to follow him, and she did just that. They ran across the grass together, and just as they approached the mountain they started to climb up, it wasn't that hard.Once they reached the top, Dusk froze. "I'm not so sure about this anymore..."They both peered over the mountain. It was much taller than Dark thought it would be. The eagles let out a loud yell as one of them scooped down into the forest section of the meadow. They both sat quietly together under the almost setting sun. "We came here for a reason, right?" He mewed, hoping to keep the she cats spirit up."Yes. To teach me how to fly, but- I'm not so sure about this anymore. It's really tall...and I'm nervous. I don't want to fall!..."She mewed. Dark let out a slight sigh as he stretched one of his wings, preparing to teach her. "If you fall, I'll catch you" he meowed. He knew himself that he wasn't as strong to be able to carry her, but he would always try.Dusk nodded, still quite unsure and nervous. "I trust you. So, how would we do this?' She spread her blackish wings."Try flapping them as if you were in the air right now" he suggested. He spread his wings to represent what it would look like. His wings looked graceful, after a few seconds he tucked his wings back in. "You try." He mewed. She attempted to follow what he was doing. Except when she tried, it was quite clumsy. "Like this?" Dusk tried to give him her best confident smile."If you do that you'll fall to your death" He mumbled. "Here, let me help" he mewed. He padded up to her and used his paw to set her wings straight, so that if she were to fly it would be stable. "Try now." he meowed.Dusk tried again, looking a bit more graceful."That's a little better" he mewed. "Try this now" he jumped up slightly and started to fly, his wings flapping as he looked up, the sun was starting to set "See?"She copied, hovering in the air for a few moments before crashing to the ground. "Ow!-"Dark ran up to lay by her side. "You hovered, at least that was good!" he mewed as be helped her up."Thanks." Dusk tried again, and again until she actually flew. She flew in a crooked line then straightened out, smiling. "Dark! Dark! I'm doing it! I'm really doing it!"
