This ship was her request and I'm sorry to make it depressing
***WARNING THIS WILL BE REALLY SAD
Maria's POV
I stare down at Eliza's sleeping form, still unresponsive. She has been in a coma for four days. I flash back to the accident when we were hit in the intersection. I remember the shrill crunch and squeal of crushing metal. I remember the glass shattering and Eliza's head slamming into the steering wheel. I remember the flipped car and the shattered body of our two year old son. Eliza's bloody face.
I shiver. With an icy tear streaming down my face I squeeze Liza's hand and walk out of her hospital room.
When I get to the lobby I see Angelica. Her eyes look bloodshot and her hair is pulled into a messy bun. She see's my wet cheeks before I can wipe the tears away and pulls me into a hug. I start sobbing.
"Shhh I know. I know," She whispers. Angelica steers me out the doors and into the car. She drives me home and tells me to call if I need anything.

I sit on the couch watching American ninja warrior reruns with a bucket of rocky road ice cream and my son's blanket. I tried to remember his sweet smile. I imagine what he would do if he were sitting next to me. Maybe yell at the athletes to try harder or jump farther. He might throw popcorn at the tv screen.
My phone rang and I looked at the screen. It was the Hospital.
"Yes this is Maria Reynolds-Schyler."
"Hello Mrs Reynolds-Schyler we are calling to inform you that your wife Elizabeth Reynolds-Schyler woke from her coma twelve minutes ago-"
The caller may have been trying to say more but I was already out the door with my keys and no makeup. I floored the gas and made good time getting to the hospital. I rushed through the doors and ran right by the receptionist. I made it to Liza's room and pulled her into my arms. I let out a strangled sob that might have been a relieved and frazzled laugh. I gently ran my fingers through her shoulder length glossy hair.
"Did ya miss me much?" She says jokingly with a scratching voice.
"Every moment," I smile back. Then I saw the panic in her eyes.
"Where's Phillip?" My eyes fell and silent tears ran down my cheeks again.
"No no no no. NO," She started sobbing into the front of my sweatshirt and I held her and rocked her until she stopped. Then I lowered her back down onto the bed and tucked her in.
"I love you Liza. I'll be back tomorrow," But she was already asleep.

As I was leaving a nurse pulled me aside and told me that due to extensive and irreversible tissue damage to her lower spine Liza would be paralyzed and in a wheel chair from the waist down for the rest of her life.
I called Angelica who was on her flight back to London and gave her the update.

I picked Eliza up from the hospital around six pm and brought her home were we ate pizza and ice cream and watched American ninja warrior reruns. I had lifted her from her wheel chair onto the couch with me and she had curled up next to me resting her head on me chest. I stroked her hair until we both fell asleep.
***
It was two in the morning when she woke up panicking .
"Whats wrong?!" I asked.
"I-I had a nightmare that you left me and I was alone." She said quietly into my chest. Then she looked up at me, "But you won't leave me. Will you?"
"I would never leave you." I say reassuringly.
"Promise?" She searched my eyes.
"Never ever." I tell her firmly. And I know it's true. I will always protect her. I will never leave her.
A/N sorry this is really sad, i'm good at writing that sort of thing. I will probably be making a part 2
