Scarlett stepped into the school hallway, her dark curls piled up on her head in a sophisticated bun above her dangling golden hoop earrings. She'd donned a lacy white top, cute jeans and summer stilettos. Perhaps a teeny bit over the top for school, but then Scarlett had already...... arranged for the teachers to turn a blind eye. Easy peasy.
The minute Scarlett's stiletto made contact with the polished floor, swarms of students swamped over to her: "Hey Scarlett, cool shoes!" "You look awesome, Scarlett!" She beamed and haughtily tossed her head, looking cool as a cucumber, even though inside she was practically exploding with excitement.
In the classroom, Scarlett flipped open her trendy new pencil case, grinning as she saw admiration written all over her classmates' faces. She casually took out the hottest, newest pen everyone was wanting and twirled it just to show off. To top it off, Annalisa was scowling as her cronies all flocked over to her and Scarlett basked in her jealousy. Oh boy, was now her time in the limelight.
All day, everyone was nothing but sugary sweet to her. At break, she could hardly finish all the goodies offered to her. No teachers told her off for being late or for not handing in her homework. A slight adjustment and her quiz was perfect. A slight adjustment and her life was flawless.
