The escape

Kai pov.
I had found her. The girl my kind have been looking for for 16 years since we discovered her missing. She is the key to our survival. And I'm the one who found her. I followed her scent here from landeron, it has taken me months to find her. It was merely by a stroke of luck that I found her when I did, I knew that she was leaving colonia and that she wasn't going alone. What I didn't expect was to find her sauntering down a street at 3 in the morning like she owned the whole world. On instinct I stepped out in front of her with my knife raised. But I was surprised to find how truly tiny she was, how can someone this small have this much street cred? Everyone I asked knew her name. They feared it. Barely anyone knew what she looked like though so that made my job impossibly harder. But I found her. Once she had stopped trying to kick me after I had thrown her over my shoulder I struck a deal with her. She would take me to see this Rhyder fellow and I would keep her alive and keep her secret.

When we got the the Rosette as it was called. Huh such a silly name. I put her down as promised and she walked in front of me up to a room above all the noise and the crowd. And I must say I enjoyed the view. She was very tiny but surprisingly curvy. She seemed to know what I was thinking and turned around and glared at me. The looked back and pointed to a closed door. "Stay here" she said "I'll go get him but you have to stay right here she said and her bright green eyes flashed." "Ok" I replied. She went it and soon came out with a handsome brute who was slightly taller then me but not as thick. He looked like a cunning bastard. "Hello," he said none too politely "I see you've already met my friend here so I will skip introducing you. Please, come in"

Rhyder pov.
Once I let the brute in I turned to Theresa and gave her the look that said not to go far incase  something goes wrong. She nodded and i closed the door. I turned to him and asked him his name "Kai is my name, and yours?" He replied "my name is Rhyder" I said shortly "and what businesses do you have coming here with... Theresa" I asked. "I know of what and who she is. And i know of your plans. I would like to join you." He said calmly " WHAT!" I yelled "HOW DO YOU KNOW OF THAT" "WELL OBVIOUSLY BECAUSE IM ONE OF HER KIND!" He shouted. Of course. That's the only way he could know, but does he know of her other bloodline? As if he could read my thoughts a malicious smile inched its way across his face." But that's not all she is, is it? But do you know what else runs through the blood in that pretty little body of hers?" He said. At that I saw red. How dare he speak so callously about her blood!? I was pissed as hell "SHUT THE HELL UP ABOUT THAT IF YOU WANT ANY CHANCE OF COMING WITH US!" I roared. If he knew what I was he wouldn't say that word that easily. I am a shifter. My main source of food? Blood. "Bloody hell" he said as I let my eyes turn their natural gold " Your a bloody damned shifter!" He said fearfully. Since I had let my shifter out I could sense everything much better. I could hear Rhysa outside the door laughing, she'd had a similar reaction the first time she saw them. " why yes," I purred letting my elongated canines show." I am. And unless you have something to offer us, you will not be coming with us, alive at least." At this he smirked, wait what? Why is he smirking!? "Oh but I do." He said "I can sense the guards. I can tell their intents and where they are. They are mere humans, their minds easy to corrupt and control. And therefore very easy to read." Holy shit he's a mind reader! Damn I should've known! I made my shifter back down before he did something we both regretted and turned back to him. "Well then, I guess we can use your particular talents." I said.
