**TRIGGER WARNING** SUICIDE **
AN/ Sorry
Thomas' POV
I ran through the school hall as fast as I could. My best friend, my only true friend had disappeared. After his sister and mom died in a tragic car accident two weeks ago, he broke. He has always had depression and anxiety but lately it's been much worse. I just wish I could've seen it sooner. I tripped over my own feet and tumbled down the concrete stairs. I felt blood draw on my face and my leg was killing me, but I ran again. When I got to his house I opened the locked door with a spare key James gave me a year ago.
"JAMES!!" I yelled, looking for my friend.
I yelled a few more times but I heard nothing. I checked the whole house and looked for clues to where he could be.
"Fuck." I mumbled, remembering something.
-Flashback-
James hummed as we watched the sunset from the cliff. "If I could die anywhere, this would be the place."
"James, don't think like that." I mumbled and swung my arm around him.
-Flashback over-
I felt myself run again. This time to the cliff. If he said he would want to die there a few years ago, it probably wouldn't have changed. James doesn't change his mind often. It took me a few painful minutes but I finally got to the cliff. It didn't surprise me to see James standing there with his back facing me.
"James-"
"I'm sorry."
"Please, just come here."
"I'm sorry."
"James, you're scaring m-"
"I know. Don't be scared Thomas.."
I felt tears flow down my cheeks. As James was talking, he never turned around.
"James, I love you." I said through tears.
He turned around. Tears were flowing down his cheeks too. "I love you too. Goodbye Thomas." He gave me a sad smile.
As I watched my best friend close his eyes, I closed my eyes too. I couldn't bear to see him die. A few seconds later I opened my eyes. I heard a splash. I didn't think as I ran to the edge of the cliff. I looked down, but I didn't see any blood.
I shot up screaming and tears were flowing down my cheeks.
"Thomas what's wrong?" I heard the soft voice of my boyfriend next to me.
"I-I'm sorry, J-James- I s-should've stopped y-you." I cried out as he hugged me.
"Hey, shh Thomas. Look at me." He took my face in his hands and made me look at him. "You did stop me. You stopped me from dying. If you hadn't called 911, I wouldn't have survived. You're my hero. I love you more than you could ever imagine."
He wiped my tears and pulled me in for a kiss. I pulled away and put my forehead on his "I-I love you too."
