Chapter 18

I briskly walk up the stage. The salty tears now making my face feel very dry. Daehyun, Daehyun, and Daehyun was all I could think of...nobody but him. Daehyun looked up slowly from his hands, staring at me, he smiled briefly. Straightening up, he held his arms out, tears streaming down his face. I choked out one more time and ran towards his embrace. I threw my arms around his neck, he put his one of his hands on my waist and one stroking my hair.

"I love you." He softly whispers into my ear.

I start to cry. I squeeze him harder as if he were to disappear any second. I bury my face into his shoulder, breathing heavily.

He rocks back and forth and soothes me.

Everybody "awws" at us. I lift up my head and see Baekhyun standing there, a slight smile on his face, on the inside probably defeated. I smile back at him, I break apart from Daehyun and run towards Baekhyun, and I give him a hug too.

"Thank you." I whisper behind his ear.

"You owe me." He chuckles, hugging me back and patting my back.

We step backwards, a little awkward for a split second. Daehyun comes and wraps one arm around my waist and pulls me close to him.

"I love you." He whispers one more time.

----------- 1 year later-----------

Baekhyun and Minah stand by the corner whispering stuff to each other. Minah giggles and slaps Baekhyun on the back, who acts like he's hurt. How cute.

Daehyun comes up and asks, "Jealous? I could do that for you!"

I smile and look up at him.

"You don't have to do that because of this..."

I stand up on my tiptoes and plant a kiss on his lips.

I get back down and twirl around, smiling to myself. I walk away, I see just enough to see Daehyun touch his lips and have a playful look on his face.

I break out into a sprint laughing, Daehyun close behind me. We run along the field laughing, he slowly gains up on me and grabs my wrist turning me around into his arms.

"I got you." He breathlessly says.

My two arms against his chest, and his arms around me, I look up at him and act like I gave up. He slowly leans in to give me a kiss, but at the last second I break free laughing and running again. I stumble and trip over my feet, landing on the dirt. Daehyun comes to my side immediately.

"Are you ok?" He asks inspecting me.

I act like I hurt my ankle and I grab my ankle, making a pained expression on my face.

Occupied on my ankle I push Daehyun onto his back, and I hover over him, looking at him breathless. He lays there his chest heaving up and down, relieved that nothing happened to my ankle. He sighs and laughs, "I fell for it again...damn!" I laugh and he gets up in an inclined position, one hand on the ground, one slowly finding its way around my neck, reeling me in to him. I stay still and close my eyes shut.

"Just kidding...troll!" Daehyun's cheerfully guffaws.

I slap him and turn around, my arms folded over my chest. He laughs and this time, he really pulls me in and our lips interlock.

We sit there like that...happy.
